ethnicity[edit]

So this is another biography that has an ethnicity dispute. I tried to verify Serbian or Croatian origin by googling, and came up with - not a lot. Can anyone offer any secondary sources on the matter? --Joy [shallot] (talk) 18:04, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, one variation I wasn't aware of previously made the Serb-related searches more useful - the name might have been Gavrilo Rodić. There are scattered references to his Orthodoxy, esp. under that name, but still nothing remotely reliable while on topic. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 10:23, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, here we go, I found a scientific article that specifically discusses Rodić's religious and national origins. We're still going to have a problem with various naysayers, but at least it's something. I think it's fair to categorize under Serbs of Croatia simply by virtue of birth and religion - 1812 wasn't far apart from the national revival movement - but with an apparent lack of emphasis. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 12:04, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
