The following text was added to the end of the article. I will format it to fit the rest of the article. I will be removing the sentence Gaultois is the home of the last standing Newman and Company building in Newfoundland as there are two Newman & Company Buildings still standing in St. John's.

submitted by former resident Terry Short----grandson of Charles and Evelyn Simms formerly of the Valley----- Before confederation with Canada in 1949, Gaultois was the customs town for those wishing to travel the the french islands Of st. Piere et Miqelin. -After resettlement in 1964 Gaultos population was approximately 550. with the fish plant and its draggers as the main employer of the town. - Gaultois is the home of the last standing Newman and Company building in Newfoundland. Though small- Gaultois has four distinct areas : 1. The rooms-near the wharf where , traditoanlly salt fish was dried for market, on flakes 2. The Valley- upthe hill a little glen surrounded by hi rock faces- home to a bout 10 homes 3. the point-across the harbour from the rooms- the most populated part of town.The point and the rooms are joined by a wooden boardwalk at the base of the rock face 4. The Bottom- up the hill and down the other side from the point-the most isolated part of town.
