Uridyltransferase (or uridyl transferase) is incorrectly spelled throughout this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.192.10.159 (talk) 20:30, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's an accepted name, see the OMIM page: http://www.omim.org/entry/606999 Canada Hky (talk) 23:52, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Incomplete[edit]

"n classic galactosemia, galactose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase activity is reduced or absent, leading to an accumulation of the precursors, galactose, galactitol and Gal-1-P.[4] The elevation of precursors can be used to differentiate GALT deficiency from galactokinase deficiency, as Gal-1-P is typically not elevated in galactokinase deficiency."

Why is there no mention of the fact that the only reason that the other precursors (Not Gal-1-P) are also elevated is due to a concentration gradient? Are people expected to know this? It certainly took me some intuition to figure out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.220.228.174 (talk) 18:49, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
