Metric values are the world standard in engineering today, and all GM powerplants are made to metric specifications. Leave the old style(imperial) values in brackets.

You deleted the "old-style" units. I have re-inserted them. The American versions of this engine are rated in horsepower natively, and using kilowatts for engine power unfamiliar to many. There are accepted standards for Wikipedia units - see Wikipedia:WikiProject_Automobiles/Conventions if you would like to familiarize yourself with these. Please consider site-wide standards before deciding to delete or change units. --SFoskett 16:00, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can we get confirmation on this "Fuel economy 4–6 km/liter in city, 7–9 km/liter on highway". I have severe doubts on the authenticity of this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.243.203.94 (talk) 16:39, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LP9 in 06-08 Saab 93 is 250 hp & 350nm not 280 hp & 400nm — Preceding unsigned comment added by Setwynn (talkcontribs) 07:02, 4 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The opel insignia never had the LP9. The Vectra had the lp9 and the insignia had the LAU. the difference between the engines are VVT on both exhaust and intlet(lp9 only had inlet) denso coils, no sai and bigger throttle body. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.185.234.127 (talk) 01:54, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Country vs. region[edit]

Are Ontario and Michigan countries now? "This engine is produced in several locations, including St. Catharines (Ontario), Flint Engine South (Michigan), Melbourne (Australia), Ramos Arizpe (Mexico), and Suzuki (Japan)." This appears to be written from a North American perspective, surely it should be continent neutral. 80.176.88.36 (talk) 15:47, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We own a 2008 Saab 9-3 Aero. It is rated at 255 hp, according to the window sticker that came on the car. I can upload a copy of that if needed. Terry Quinn — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.179.235.18 (talk) 18:38, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Timing[edit]

A very central distinction in engines is missing: is the valve timing via chain or belt? (It's probably not gear or other direct drive.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.76.109.10 (talk) 19:40, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
