Untitled[edit]

In Chapter I Childhood (pg.11) of The Autobiography of Bertrand Russell . Bertrand Russell states and I quote "My parents married in 1864, when they were both twenty-two. My brother, as he boasts in his autobiography, was born nine months and four days after the wedding." I have done end-less searches for Frank Russell, 2nd Earl Russell Autobiography with no luck. If anyone happens to have in their Possession this autobiography which merits Historical value please upload it to wikisource or Project Gutenberg.

A1 Registration Plate - not 1901[edit]

The link to the History channel no longer finds that citation. The Hansard link and the Ottaway quote both state 1903 as the date of purchase of the first UK car registration plate. Also http://www.fleetdata.co.uk/ukregistrations.html states 1903 as the first year of vehicle registration in Britain. I suspect the History channel's 24th December article was simply in error. I propose taking the exact date off and replacing it with 1903. Silas Maxfield (talk) 10:43, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, vehicle registration was introduced by the Motor Car Act 1903.Lozleader (talk) 11:56, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"The first registration marks were made up of one letter with one number, the first (A1) being issued by London County Council in 1903." "A Brief History of Registration". Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. Retrieved 16 July 2010.Lozleader (talk) 12:50, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Call to the Bar[edit]

It's usual when writing about an English barrister to say which Inn of Court he or she was called from - but missing here. Can it be added? Ingratis (talk) 07:21, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Russell was called at Gray's Inn. WinnieMax (talk) 15:36, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick response. I don't mean to look a gift fact in the mouth but have you a source/ref for that? Ingratis (talk) 17:36, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's mentioned in his memoirs. I've added it to the article. Ingratis, WinnieMax, I'd be grateful if someone could look it over to see if the language could be improved.--Wehwalt (talk) 22:28, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much for doing that. I've had a go at the wording. Ingratis (talk) 01:06, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
