Talk:Foghorn Leghorn[edit]

The picture in the article claiming that it's a screenshot of Foghorn Leghorn with chickens is incorrect. The picture is of Foghorn's old college roommate, Rhode Island Red, surrounded by chickens. - Kendo_Bunny

Senator Claghorn is significant enough as an iconic character (not just in radio but even spawning a movie and stage play, both obscure admittedly) to deserve his own page, not just a mention in the entry for the more famous character he inspired. Thus, I'm going to try to change the redirect and create a new page for Claghorn.Aleal 20:33, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I agree completely; redirecting "Senator Claghorn" here is not apprpriate. -- Infrogmation 21:15, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Didn't Foghorn wind up in a dire yet somewhat survivable predicamint at the end of every episode?

No. -- Jason Palpatine 19:00, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Because that happened the shorts The Foghorn Leghorn and Broken Leghorn, I just assumed...oh, never mind.

Another spoken reference to Claghorn's catchphrases is "Pay attention! ... Nice kid, but he doesn't listen to a word you say" which gets repeated when Foggy talks at Henery (of course without letting him get a word in edgeways). Jeremynicholas 09:17, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kellog's Corn Flakes?[edit]

My faulty memory can not place FhLh on the cover of Kellog's Corn Flakes. Do we have a reference for this? I just remember a stylized drawing of a rooster.

But wasn't the name Foghorn T. Leghorn, and not just Foghorn Leghorn? And is it politically incorrect to mention that he was regarded by all, especially himself, as the protector of the gals in the run? ( probabaly, but PC is usually one long denial of the obvious, so what's new?)

  • I've added an image that I believe clarifies his status as the top cock on the farm. --M@rēino 19:57, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes[edit]

Way, way too many quotes on this page, and not a single one of them is referenced to any episode/short. Yes, the quotes all seem to be things that Foghorn would say, but how do we know that editors haven't merely thrown in their own jokes? Darcyj 22:31, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GET THAT SECOND PICTUREOUT OF THERE.THAT IS NOT FOGHORN LEGHORN !!!!!!!

  • I dumped all the quotes to Wikiquote, where the experts can handle them. I put the link in the usual spot at the bottom, but if you want to restore the "Quotes" header so that the Wikiquote link can go higher up the page, that's also a decent option for a page like this one where the quotes seem to have been around for a while. --M@rēino 19:51, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Junior[edit]

Shouldn't the page say something about Junior? When I picture Foghorn Leghorn, I always picture him talking to Junior.--71.192.56.227 06:15, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"This gag is the same as every other gag."[edit]

Edited the Foghorn Leghorn page...lets see how long it takes 'Messy Palpatine' to make another run at implying the cartoons are predictable. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.110.202.41 (talk) 18:54, 9 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Leghorn, Ligorno, Livorno...[edit]

Someone might want to work into the article that "Leghorn" is the name 19th Century english tourists understood as referring to the italian port city of Ligorno/Livorno. "Leghorn" was one of the prime winter tourist destinations for the rising english bourgeoisie of the time. And today's "Livorno" is where, I believe, the "Leghorn" breed of chicken originated from.

Separate article?[edit]

Foghorn is way more famous than the dog; shouldn't he get an entry of his own? Kyeo77 (talk) 01:17, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely. The dog isn't featured in all Foghorn Leghorn cartoons. There are also some cartoons that have the dog in them but not Foghorn. YuckieDuck (talk) 17:09, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Talk: The Barnyard Dawg[edit]

Unnamed section[edit]

"shares the same voice with Elmer Fudd." That can't be right. Barnyard Dawg has a gruff voice, totally unlike Elmer's. Ron (talk) 02:45, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the debate was move (and merge page histories). Prolog (talk) 22:56, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, this article should be moved to Foghorn Leghorn. The Barnyard Dawg should have an article of his own. YuckieDuck (talk) 17:17, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Have a look at Wikipedia:Splitting. Andrewa (talk) 18:16, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support move: It may be best for someone with an interest in the subject to create an article for Barnyard Dawg first, so that this page can be moved and trimmed of unnecessary references to Barnyard Dawg? I am not certain, but this may languish at WP:RM for some time, until the moving of this article doesn't create a "gap". Maedin\talk 16:43, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Barnyard Dawg created, with redirect from George P. Dog. I don't think The Barnyard Dawg is a good title, but we can deal with that later if others disagree. Note that there was a previous, and apparently undiscussed, merge, which in essence I have reversed. But simply restoring the pre-merge article would have lost a lot of content that had since been added. Andrewa (talk) 08:45, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

leghorn[edit]

Anybody know if leghorn cartoons are included with the golden classic looney toons dvds? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.62.8.127 (talk) 16:28, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jeff Bergman voiced Foghorn Leghorn in 1993?[edit]

I've done my research, and Jeff Bergman has not reportedly voiced Foghorn Leghorn for anything in between 1992 and 2002. Brian K. Tyler (talk) 17:53, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
