David Letterman[edit]

Their appearance on the show was taped and broadcast on June 11th, 2007 and not in August as the article says. I know this as I attended the show personally. The guest of the episode was Dennis Leary.

Residence[edit]

I'm guessing this is referring to where they live in the HBO series, which has a red painted stone facade. This could either be moved to the Series entry, or removed due to irrelevance? 203.79.95.234 13:57, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Television Synopsis[edit]

Any plans on incorporating Episode Guides to the HBO program? Possibly song lists?

The Episode Guide is in the HBO Series entry, and each episode's entry has a song list. 203.79.95.234 13:54, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sample lyric[edit]

Is the sample lyric section really necessary? If there's just one lyric, then it seems silly... but I don't think there should be a huge quotes section either. Perhaps an audio sample? Isquitenice 03:06, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Improvised?[edit]

Do the conchords improvise their songs? --Dunkankan 03:56, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, they don't. There is an element of spontaneity is some of their songs, but for the most part, they're scripted. Isquitenice 04:07, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have noticed a similarity between the chord progression in "frodo" and Led Zeppelin's "I'm gonna leave you". This leads me to believe that their chord progression may not be entirely original. However, there is also a chord progression in "I'm gonna leave you" which can be found in Chicago's "Twenty-Five or Six to Four". Interesting. Conclusion: Their songs are scripted. False Dichotomy? Yes. 66.143.203.131 (talk) 02:30, 18 December 2008 (UTC) Watch them live, it's not all scripted. They mix it up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.238.127.69 (talk) 23:36, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name?[edit]

Does someone know why they're named the way they are? Nicolasdz 03:51, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NAME- From an interview published on EW.com:

"And why did you name yourselves Flight of the Conchords? MCKENZIE: There isn't really a good story. Other than...we shared...a dream. A vision. [Laughs] Jemaine's explanation will be completely different. CLEMENT: It was just, like, a last-minute thing. We had a gig and we didn't have a name. We had to come up with something quickly. We were considering Tanfastic. Which is the name of a suntan lotion." 64.207.110.114 01:27, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phones4U[edit]

What did they do for the phones4u adverts? I don't remember this? --leopheard (talk) 11:13, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Television Series[edit]

It says on the page that the show premiered in Canada on October 21st 2008. While this may be the regular cable premiere, it aired on the Movie Network in Canada, at the same time that it aired on HBO in the US, in June of 2007, over a year earlier. Unless I'm unaware of something, this should be changed 99.231.162.191 (talk) 23:02, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tour[edit]

The tour section does not specify the year of the tour, beyond stating that it will be after the second season. Is that supposed to mean 2009? Ironearth (talk) 16:01, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Third Season?[edit]

Article says "third season is expected to begin in 2010" but it lacks a reference. I looked a bit online, but only found articles stating the contrary (i.e. 2nd Season expected to be the last.) Anyone have evidence of an upcoming 3rd season? I would LOVE to be proven wrong on this one!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by JoelWhy (talkcontribs) 22:04, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How Can a Following be Mass and Cult?[edit]

This sentence seems self contradictory:

They have since developed a mass cult following. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.180.71.193 (talk) 02:47, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is lengthy appearance section necessary?[edit]

kinda gets bogged down - do we really need to know each and every appearance? Maybe pick out highlights or geographically-representational appearances. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.108.80.249 (talk) 21:24, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, this does not read even slightly like an encyclopaedia article, just like a (very) long list of gigs. Imagine if every other article about entertainers were nearly all a gig-list... think Beatles, Bob Hope, Bono, Julie Andrews, John Wayne... the articles would become almost unreadable and of no encyclopaedic value whatsoever. Is it just me?[edit]

Do TV On The Radio sound a lot like FOTC? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.32.59.198 (talk) 19:17, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also known as...?[edit]

In the Background Information, it indicates that they are "Also known as Rhymenoceros and Hiphopopotamus." Any objections to removing this? Besides the Hiphopopotamus song, I'm not aware of them actually going by these names.JoelWhy (talk) 18:10, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Nobody calls them that; it's just one (albeit awesome) song. --Muboshgu (talk) 19:45, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Feel Inside (And Stuff Like That)[edit]

Surely this it notable enough for its own article, given it was #1 in NZ for two weeks and got worldwide press attention (as well as one NZ journalist calling it NZ's best charity song). Also, the video includes a few people that aren't included in the actual single. Happy to create it, just questioning why it leads to a redirect. Vickytnz (talk) 19:58, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyediting[edit]

Is there any reason why they're called

  • The band
  • the group
  • The duo
  • Flight of the Conchords
  • Bret and Jemaine

? I'm changing many of these to simply "they", and putting each appearance on a line of its own just in the wikicode to make editing easier.

In § Appearances, I'm deleting this reference to somebody with no apparent other connection to the duo:

Kristen Schaal also performed on the tour, playing all dates except the final show 22 September 2013 in Phoenix, AZ.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.oddballfest.com|title=Oddball Festival|publisher=oddballfest.com|accessdate=28 August 2013}}</ref>
