Firefall Fest[edit]

I'm currently watching footage of a 5-day event apparently held in October 2012 celebrating this game. YouTube playlist is here. There's loads of information which could be used to update this article (which seems to be somewhat outdated now): too much for just one editor ;-) HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 16:07, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PvP in FireFall[edit]

I re-entered the fact that Red 5 Studios never paid out a single dollar of the $1 million PvP tournament prize money announced. Please tell the whole story (eg: $1 million announced, then silently cancelled, then PvP removed altogether). Or remove any mentioning of PvP at all, since all the drama around it, including its cancellation, was during a previous CEO's watch. 185.37.87.136 (talk) 18:38, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not saying your wrong, but you need a reliable source by the way, a news article at the very least. Otherwise anyone can say anything, please see WP:V. 76.23.40.140 (talk) 09:27, 30 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see the problem in "anyone can say anything". But that should apply to Red 5 Studios too then? It is directly a flat out lie when the wiki states "During this time game featured $1 million in prize money for its PvP tournament throughout 2013" when it featured no such thing. There's literally no source whatsoever of a single dollar being paid out to any player, in any FireFall tournament, ever. IF Red 5 Studios HAD paid out that $1 million they announced, there would have been tonnes of sources. Fact is, they announced a highly publicised $1 million prize pool to be paid out during 2013. Fact is, it's now 2014 and Red 5 have paid out ZERO dollars. Red 5 Studios never flat out said "we cancel all tournaments and will not pay out a single dollar of the $1 mill we announced earlier" and they never will, since that's extremely bad publicity. They just silently cancelled the whole thing, culminating with Mark Kern's announcement that PvP was removed from the game altogether. So I've reverted the changes I made, until someone can provide sources that Red 5 Studios paid out $1 million prize money, other than "they announced they would". 185.37.87.136 (talk) 00:04, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Game is dead?[edit]

According to the most recent reviews (listed as Mostly Negative on Steam), the game's login servers are down, and have been down for quite some time. As well, the population of the game is drastically smaller. Likely, this game is dead, and the wiki article needs to be updated in light of this information. We'll need a source. I'm working to find one, but the best I've found so far is from the end of August, and the game was back up shortly after. There doesn't appear to be any news of a permanent closure. -- ferret (talk) 17:43, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
