Just taking a quick look, I don't see how this article meets the GA criteria. There's almost nothing about her: how good a racer she is, how long she's been racing, what else she does (is she a student, etc.). The only information about here is in the lead, so the article certainly doesn't meet the criteria of WP:LEAD, a GA requirement (the lead should be a summary of the article, and no significant facts should be in the lead that aren't in the body of the article). Indeed, the article reads as if it's more about mechanical doping and the circumstances of the incident than about Femke herself (WP:COATRACK). I'd like to strongly recommend that the nomination be withdrawn (just delete the GA nominee template from this page); if GA is the goal, then a great deal of work needs to be done to get the article to the point where it meets the criteria. Was the motorised bike used in the race?

“It’s not Femke’s bike. Someone from her team, who sometimes trains with her, brought the bike to the pit. But it was never the intention that she would ride it. … Femke has absolutely not used that bike in the race. We are strongly affected by what’s happened. Other than the fact that she was on the bike and she actually used it and they took it away from her and confiscated it at the time. She argues about her intentions, but the fact that she actually used it is not seriously disputed. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 22:00, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Part of the issue is that there is a distinction between "ride" and "use". By the UCI's definition, putting the bike in the pit is "use" even though she may not have ridden it during that race. Do you interpret the UCI's claim to be that she started with the motorized bike, rode it part of the way through the lap, and then switched to a legal bike? 131.217.255.208 (talk) 01:30, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Speaking as a lawyer, I admire your creativity and your distinctions. But I am sceptical that anyone will be persuaded. The rules make possession of it contraband, even in the pits. Can't have it at the race. That she rode it, whether or not she actually engaged the motor, will be more than enough. Create Mechanical Doping article?

It says on the article's page to discuss this, so I thought to start a section for discussion.

For me, it is a YES to create the article. I think that this particular athlete's name will likely be long forgotten in the years to come; however the term mechanical doping is likely to continue for years to come. Mister Sneeze A Lot (talk) 11:55, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
