Does feminism mean one thing?

A standard definition of "equality of the sexes", but this doesn't include e.g. questions about whether men should exist or whether it would be better for women if they didn't exist. (Cf. What Do We Need Men For?: A Modest Proposal) DenverCoder9 (talk) 18:19, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

Certainly the standard definition of feminism striving for gender equality remains the central point of feminism, no matter what other aspects are being discussed. Gender equality is the core idea. Nobody seriously suggests a world without men; it's highly impractical to continue the species otherwise. When E. Jean Carroll says in her book that all men should be shipped to Montana where they can be contained and re-educated, she was forcing the reader think about the ramifications. She was not actually proposing that as a solution. Her little mental exercise has not been described as part of feminism. Binksternet (talk) 20:06, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

This page could use an inclusion of the subheading decolonial feminism. Over on the decoloniality page it is defined as:

Decolonial feminism reformulates the coloniality of gender by critiquing the very formation of gender and its subsequent formations of patriarchy and the gender binary, not as universal constants across cultures, but as structures that have been instituted by and for the benefit of European colonialism. Marìa Lugones proposes that decolonial feminism speaks to how "the colonial imposition of gender cuts across questions of ecology, economics, government, relations with the spirit world, and knowledge, as well as across everyday practices that either habituate us to take care of the world or to destroy it." Decolonial feminists like Karla Jessen Williamson and Rauna Kuokkanen have examined colonialism as a force that has imposed gender hierarchies on Indigenous women that have disempowered and fractured Indigenous communities and ways of life.
