sequel debate[edit]

This section either needs some citations, or needs to be removed. It's nothing more than rampant speculation with no official sources, and has no place on wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.71.28.35 (talk) 22:46, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cast[edit]

There have been numerous edits to the cast lists, back and forth again. The principle cast of this film is the same as it were for the first. In order of importance/billing: Diesel, Walker, Rodriguez, and Brewster. Cast lists shouldn't be based on favorites, rumors, or speculation. Bumping Rodriguez from the "starring" list based on spoiler speculation would be wrong. Adding Gadot to the principle cast list above the lead/well-known name-actors is also wrong. As it stands the primary cast is the original cast (and in the same order).

Until Universal issues an official press release stating that Gadot, Ortiz, or any other individuals are in lead/principle cast roles or until you see the official credits roll across the screen in 2009, it's safest to leave it as it was for the first film now that all original lead actors are returning and do in fact make up the principle cast. 4 Fast 4 Furious[edit]

Hollywood Reporter, E!, and Ign are all naming this flick "4 Fast 4 Furious". I dunno if it's just a running joke, but they seem serious enough to list it in their search results.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.247.150.24 (talkcontribs) 14:43, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably just a joke. --MrStalker (talk) 14:47, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Either way, we need a redirect. 98.223.170.167 (talk) 22:53, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The best title I've heard for it is "Still Fast, Still Furious".TeePee-20.7 (talk) 04:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I heard it will be just "Fast and Furious". --154.5.55.124 (talk) 03:18, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What I've heard from around school and just a whole bunch of people is that it will be called "The Fast and The Furious: Fuego En El Barrio". soundz like a pretty tight name for the movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reisito4 (talkcontribs) 02:43, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As a source it's not exactly reliable. --MrStalker (talk) 16:54, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Title Alterations[edit]

In regards to the recent changing of the title to Fast and Furious and 4urious, until the launch of the film's website or some other official promotional material is released which indicates the title to be such, it should remain simply Fast and Furious. 2012Dance (talk) 16:40, 8 June 2008 (UTC) in this page have fan titles film never h ave alternate titles for USA[reply]

Plot??? Is this the offical stuff.[edit]

As i was reading the paragraph on the plot I noticed that things did not add up. Such as in the second movie Brian and Rome get pardoned, so how has Brian been in jail. Also at the end of the first film Dom is in Mexico, now why would anyone want to come back to a country that they are a fugitive in??? It maybe to early to put a title and any plot that is not direct from a writer or director as what the movie is going to be like.

Chronology[edit]

Shouldn't this article say "Preceded by 2 fast 2 furious" and "followed by The Fast and the furious: Tokyo drift"? considering the chronology —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.202.54.10 (talk) 23:31, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The start of the movie was before Tokyo Drift, but it also showed the events right after 2 Fast, 2 Furious. As you know Dom (Vin) had a cameo at the end of Tokyo Drift before he went home to the US. Although continuity is scarce as they came and we can assume as he was hiding from the US government after he was sentenced and "Supposedly" been busted out by Mia et al.

Now to assume this was before Tokyo Drift has no direct source so we cannot assume it. We should stick by it precedence to Tokyo Drift due to the lack of additional sources because it could be either before, after or even adjacent to this film.--Maverx (talk) 05:09, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The problem here is that 2 Fast 2 Furious is not referenced at all in this film. Also, there would be a story conflict, as Brian was promoted to FBI agent in this film, while in 2F2F, he was a fugitive on the run. Does this mean 2F2F is non-canon? - Areaseven (talk) 04:23, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How did Han Return?[edit]

He died in the explosion of his car in Tokyo Drift.76.18.120.135 (talk) 02:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This takes place before Tokyo Drift —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.213.34.62 (talk) 21:54, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The start of the film was before Tokyo Drift but no sources suggest that it was before Tokyo Drift. It could be before, after of even adjacent. --Maverx (talk) 05:12, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to your question is that Fast N 4urious Is set BEFORE and DURING Tokyo Drift, *spolier* when Han and Dom are talking and Han decides to call it quits, he hints of some shit going down in Tokyo */spolier* this as mentioned in the special features as a Cross-over to Tokyo Drift, which is the reason you don't see Han for the rest of the movie 91.107.143.76 (talk) 01:52, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title[edit]

I have moved this back to the (2009 film) disambiguation, per WP:NCF and the fact that it's the same set-up for the first movie in the franchise. The 2009 film is no more dominant than the 1939 film, no more than the 2001 film was more dominant than the 1955 one. hbdragon88 (talk) 17:03, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

David Banner[edit]

David Banner is also on the film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.101.122.31 (talk) 23:18, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My mom's in the film too. There has yet to be any references to these hip-hop stars actually playing any role in the movie. Check IMDB. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.27.223.234 (talk) 01:52, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Same weekend and Motion Picture[edit]

Within the original date was June 5, 2009, was changed because of Land of the Lost changing after Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince release date changes on July 17, 2009 with Land of the Lost old release. Fast & Furious changes a date on June 12, 2009, the same weekend than other Universal Studios film, The Incredible Hulk on June 13, 2008, and the same Motion picture for Universal than Land of the Lost. Hoping to get the second new box office record of Hulk's. 71.72.230.86 (talk) 02:56, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Michael Johnson[edit]

The article suggests that Michael Jackson is appearing in this as "Pedobear" which sounds almost certainly like vandalism, I'm going to delete it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.124.64.142 (talk) 11:12, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism/Blanking[edit]

Can someone please put in a report to admin about the individual (IP 115.132.10.76) who keeps blanking and vandalizing the page. Removing Rodriguez' name, adding in this Malaysia nonsense, it's ridiculous. It needs to be stopped and those IPs blocked immediately. I'm not sure the procedure. Any help would be appreciated. 2012Dance (talk) 12:26, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Release date[edit]

Whoever added the March 27 release date for this film needs to cite their source. I am removing it because I live in calgary, canada and it says on the tv everywhere its coming out on april 3 and I searched through all the movie listings and they say the same thing. Unless it is a screening... Ub3rst4r (talk) 04:56, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Car List[edit]

Would it be possible to get a list of the cars used in the movie —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.111.20.63 (talk) 21:10, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That fails WP:INDISCRIMINATE..i.e., a FAQ list of cars featured in the film. In the past, This is similar to the list of fictitious dinosaur species featured in King Kong (2005 film) that was subsequently removed for violating that policy. --Madchester (talk) 22:35, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not only is it indiscriminate, but a list of "featured cars" should only include vehicles featured in the film, not just "seen parked out front of the guy's apartment"... I could understand the half dozen or so cars that are truly featured throughout the movie, but if it's only seen for one moment in one scene, it's not featured... - Adolphus79 (talk) 13:54, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, why not delete the Car Lists from the other Fast and Furious movies? -Areaseven (talk) 10:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a good idea... feel free to be bold, and do it yourself... - Adolphus79 (talk) 20:58, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know it sounds off-topic, but I don't think removing the car list was a good idea (unless there's a reason). This degrades the fact that even after the movie, users will not be able to identify the vehicles that has been seen in the movie, thus limiting the article(s) of The Fast & The Furious series. JMBZ-12 (talk) 20:06, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Here's an idea: How about creating a separate article covering all the cars from The Fast and the Furious film series? There's already an article covering all James Bond cars, so why not? - Areaseven (talk) 04:25, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. That way, there is a chance that one of the Fast and the Furious movies will be nominated for a "Good Article". JMBZ-12 (talk) 21:06, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Brandon T. Jackson[edit]

Shouldn't he be added to the cast section? CollisionCourse (talk) 11:51, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Who is that? Why should he be added? And do you have a reliable source for the addition? - Adolphus79 (talk) 12:25, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User ratings[edit]

I removed the IMDb user rating from the article per MOS:FILM#Critical reception: "Do not include user ratings submitted to websites such as the Internet Movie Database or Rotten Tomatoes, as they are vulnerable to vote stacking and demographic skew." Looking at this user rating in particular, we can see that the overwhelming majority of voters are male and between the ages 18-29, which is ill-representative of all audiences that have seen this film. —Erik (talkcontrib) 16:53, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Scenes[edit]

after watching the movie, I realized they deleted the oil tanker scene —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.21.165.146 (talk) 16:45, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not in the UK. It's shown at the start of the film.94.169.146.239 (talk) 18:04, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It was also in the US version at the start of the film. --EfferAKS 18:30, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fifth Movie (Sequel to Fast & Furious (2009 film)[edit]

If you noticed, I removed the section relating to the probable production of a Fifth installment of the Fast and Furious series. The reason behind this is that every source seems to have things different. All seem to use direct quotes, but there are intricacies laced throughout which are different. To give an example, one source says the film will take place in Europe (See History of Fast and Furious for those sources). On the other hand, another source (MSNBC) states that it will take place in Brazil. Case being, till this can be clarified, User:Evilgohan2|ⒺⓋⒾⓁⒼⓄⒽⒶⓃ]] talk 06:45, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nissan GT-R or Nissan Skyline GTR[edit]

There's a certain difference between these 2 cars. Does anybody remember which one Brian O'Connor took from the compound? (ShushKebab (talk) 14:25, 22 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Visual effects[edit]

Dom's car in the first scene.[edit]

In the first scene of the movie, Dom drives a Buick Grand National. If that seems relevant, add it to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.250.192.164 (talk) 00:43, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

The plot was too long. Too many unimportant scenes that were written out too long. As usual, this will soon get very long with well-meaning people adding more and more detail. All plot modifications should stick to this one as closely as possible. hbdragon88 (talk) 23:48, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think you ended up being right. I'd revert it, but then I'd have to check the two against each other and add links to the cast in the plot summary... --V2Blast (talk) 08:24, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

sequal information[edit]

i removed the line "Vin Diesel uses a rebuilt version of Letty's RoadRunner from the fourth Fast and Furious" from the end of the sequal section. as at the end of the movie dom says that he won it off han —Preceding unsigned comment added by Diesal 11 (talkcontribs) 04:21, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title disambiguation[edit]

Given the similarities to the titles, would it not be a good idea to disambiguate all the related titles to make things clear? This would mean the article for this movie would be at Fast & Furious (2009 film) and the earlier one at Fast and Furious (1939 film). *All* non-disambiguated titles could then go to The Fast and the Furious. Rhindle The Red (talk) 18:09, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Box Office Takings[edit]

This section needs to be updated to take into account UK and European Box Office takings, An official report of what the UK took was available on teletext a while back taking £250mil which would take total takings of the film past 500mil 91.107.143.76 (talk) 01:47, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Laz Alonso's Character[edit]

Why is it that in the plot synopsis the name Felix appears and in the cast listing the name phelix[sic] Caldaron appears? Also, following the link to the list of characters page shows the name Phelix Calderon while the IMDB page lists Laz Alsonso's character to be called Fenix Rise? [1] Can anyone confirm the actual name here? 70.72.71.115 (talk) 17:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Dane Meister[reply]

End Credits Scene, Minor Edit[edit]

I edited a minor statement in the description for the post-credit ending scene. In the original description, it was posted that the scene was animated. I have the Blu-ray and this scene is not animated but rather a live action bonus scene that sets up the action for Fast Five. 68.62.28.213 (talk) 12:47, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Page[edit]

I think it would make more sense for this page to be about the series and for there to be a note for the fourth film. It's more likely that people would be coming here for the overall series. Enigmamsg 02:55, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Which is why Fast & Furious points to the franchise article, which is a film topic, so "(film)" also should point there, as the primary topic is the franchise, which is a film topic. -- 65.94.169.222 (talk) 05:53, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
