New Zealand and Australia[edit]

It might be worth mentioning that both NZ and Australia each have a fair trade fortnight, the one in nz has recently past but there was heaps of press attention it might be worth finding out whether any other countries have a similar event and then re-writing the artical to respect that.

I will try to find out as much as i can on this, Good work thou :-)

Thanks! Fairtrade fortnights are actually celebrated in other countries as well. I changed the entry to make it "international proof".
There are also fairtrade fortnight equivalents in countries such as France and Spain... they are called differently though: in France, it's the Quinzaine du Commerce Equitable http://www.quinzaine-commerce-equitable.com/ - should we write something about this?Vincentl 04:31, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Fairtrade.png[edit]

The image Image:Fairtrade.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. Biased/irrelevant content[edit]

Much of this article appears to be a criticism of the Fairtrade Foundation and business model, as opposed to Fairtrade fortnight, which is an event held by the Fairtrade Foundation. The criticism should either be moved to the Foundation's page or removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.6.159.62 (talk) 15:02, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. And if one looks at which articles link to the Fair trade debate article, they will see that it is well served by links. Also, the final (unsourced) paragraph in the "Criticism of Fairtrade" section appears on the face of it to have brazenly been inserted to refute the preceding paragraph criticising the use of volunteers. I have not looked at the edit history to pick apart how it came to be. Thus I am going to remove this criticism section. -Lopifalko (talk) 05:51, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
