GA Review[edit]

Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch

Hello. I'm going to have to fail this article's GAN nomination. Here are my major concerns with the article:

  • My main concern is a lack of referencing. There are entire sections without references, as well as major parts of other sections. This needs to be rectified before the article can pass GAN.
  • There should be no spaces between punctuation and refs, and no spaces between sucessive refs. So, refs should look like ".[5][6]", not ". [5] [6]"
  • The panorama picture in the Design characteristics section should probably be made into a thumb-sized one.
  • Text should not be sandwiched between images.
    • Pending - Most of the images have been deleted due to copy right issues. I have requested permission from a copyright holder for three images, and he has agree. I am just waiting for him to choose a license to upload them. One last pharaoh (talk) 16:35, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is it necessary to have both the table and the country by country text breakdown in the Operators and service history section. I would suggest removing the table and moving any relevant, non duplicated information into the text. This is especially true because the table is missing so much information (so many fields are empty).
    • Checked - Information have been moved to the table, and tiny sections have been deleted. Also, countries with similar information have been merged into one row. One last pharaoh (talk) 16:35, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • It is probably not necessary to have a country-by-country breakdown for any countries other than Egypt and possibly Kuwait. It just makes for a lot of really tiny sections that could easily be combined under the current "Others" heading.
  • Comparable vehicles and See also sections should go before References section.
  • Ref #2 (Mulcahy, Paul), which is heavily relied upon in this article, is probably not reliable. It appears to be a self-published website of a gentlemen who is publishing the information for use in a video game.
    • Green tickY Done - Where ever possible, a reliable source is used with this one. Few cases where there is no other source to support the statement exist, like the unit price, and the Kuwaiti inventory in 1988, which in turns has a reliable source for the current inventory. • All web references should include publisher and access date information. The publisher should be an individual or company, not a web domain (Howitzer.dk, for example).

This is not an exhausive list - I have not checked prose, NPOV, image licensing, or the reliability of most of the references. This article has been significantly improved recently, but still has a ways to go before it is of GA status. Also, when and if you decide to renominate it, please nominate it under the War and military subsection of the History section, rather than under Miscellaneous. Please, point out any remaining concern. Thank you. One last pharaoh (talk) 16:35, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be placing further comments on the talk page, since this review has been closed. Dana boomer (talk) 16:57, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
