It has been proposed that French Industrial Exposition of 1844 be merged into this article. I was actually vaguely considering making separate articles for some or all of the other expositions in this series. The individual expositions are interesting as snapshots of French manufacturing in the year they were held. There is a lot of material on them. Often books or long articles were dedicated to a single exposition, far too much to fit into this article. Each of the individual articles could have a complete list of gold medalists, many of whom would in turn deserve an article, for example. This article would then become an overview of the series, showing the evolution from 1798 to 1848. Aymatth2 (talk) 14:16, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So this page would fulfil a role similar to the role that which Colonial exhibition has with regard to the colonial exhibitons (except with no red articxle links linked!)?
Sounds OK to me. I think the addition of link from French Industrial Exposition of 1844 (and others if they exist) for the full historical scope would also be a good idea.

Like Colonial exhibition, only not a table. Yes, this overview and the individual ones would cross-link. I pumped up the 1844 article a bit. A lot more could be added. I may start some of the others later. Aymatth2 (talk) 19:11, 13 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
