There can also be a negative mortality rate - I read somewhere once that (I think New Zealand) funeral directors noticed an unexpected downward trend in deaths - and worked out that it was the an after-effect of WWI (the people who had not survived to add their deaths to the later period): we should now be seeing an equivalent for WWII. Recommend adding the latest PHE all cause mortality - shows clear evidence of harvesting effect in relation to COVID-19 194.34.204.36 (talk) 14:05, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
