Contested deletion[edit]

Dear Wikipedia Editors, please help me to properly edit this article instead of deleting it, and please cross reference sources. This by no means is an Advertising text. As for importance, checking links to Authors and Online content will help establish the artist as vastly important. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CocoMusic (talkcontribs) 08:48, 2 September 2016 (UTC) There are numerous references available. There are also numerous links to other Wikipedia pages. This article is not an orphan as indicated in the Speedy deletion section.[reply]

As this is a painstaking job, I and the Greek Rock Scene would vastly appreciate your input towards appropriated content.

Please indicate fields and phrases that you consider to be inappropriate. And please refrain from deleting.

Thank you for your time, Coco.

@CocoMusic: It was you who added the deletion tag, so I've removed it. I didn't check anything else about the article, so other editors may tag it for deletion if it's unsuitable for mainspace. If you're still working on it and wish to receive feedback, check out WP:AFC. The people there will help you learn the ins and outs of creating well-formatted, policy-abiding articles. If you respond, please ping me using {{ping|Anarchyte}} at the start of the response. Also, make sure to sign your posts using ~~~~ at the end! Hey guys...[edit]

I am already having a difficult time with my basic knowledge of HTML and code, but guyyyyyys, some of what you have categorized as External Links are in fact references such as books and articles from which i have gathered information. Please help me, I am about to fall off my chair.

I appreciate the help with the editing, thanks, especially the begining of the article, u just made it better, i will refine my article with citations and such, a few days later as I am so beat only a dead horse would compare.

Thanks again.

As I have already explained on your talk page, these are not "references". Please read Help:Referencing for beginners for the "how-to" on referencing, and insert footnotes to support EVERY important piece of information and EVERY quotation in the article. - Arjayay (talk) 13:41, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

OK, let me get this straight. cause obviously i m missing the point.

When i write the the singer is called the voice and i provide a link to an article where a well known music critic and magazine owner states exactly that, what am i doing wrong?

anyway i will read the referencing article and try to adhere as best i can.

thank you - CocoMusic (talk) 15:26, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

the article is not an orphan[edit]

at least Echo Tattoo links to it. https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echo_Tattoo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Sin — Preceding unsigned comment added by CocoMusic (talkcontribs) 07:02, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone care to point out the specific passages that require citations?

Thanks. CocoMusic (talk) 06:44, 3 September 2016 (UTC)CocoMusic[reply]

CocoMusic Firstly, please put new posts at the bottom, not hidden in the middle of the page - I have moved this post for you.
As for being an orphan, articles in the Greek Wikipedia do not count, and the Robert Sin article does not link to this page - the simple check is to click "What links here" the first line under Tools on the article page - which produces this list - lots of user pages and some project pages but no articles.
The article is. therefore, still an orphan and I have reinstated the tag. Please note that we prefer at least three links before the orphan tag is removed. - Arjayay (talk) 08:27, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As for the specific passages that require citations - every major point that hasn't been covered:-
The illegitimacy, adopted parents etc in the lead section
All the Childhood paragraph except the first line
The first, second and final paragraphs of the Career section
The entire Personal life section
In particular, as stated above, EVERY quotation, and everything referring to another person - Arjayay (talk) 08:35, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Arjayay

Please check Robert Sin, it does link here, it did yesterday and it does today, i just visited. What would be proof of illegitimacy? A mention in the artist's own words in an interview or... Should I ask her for material or Adoption papers? There are no names involved in my article so as to damage reputations of living persons - and we all know about her origins because she talks about it a lot, in interviews and in person. Also a lot of it is on her facebook profile, for the world to see, can I use that? As for the career bit most of it is taken from "25 Years of Greek Rock" and "Get that Beat" two books by Greek music chronographer/historian and critic Dinos Dimatatis. Should I attribute every bit of information to these two books multiple times? Also there is Spyros Hytiris, a critic and a first hand witness to all I am writing about here. How do I use his real live quotes here? Thank you for your time and support.

Robert Sin links here now, because User:LamprosK added the link at 10.14 this morning in this edit. This seems a remarkable coincidence - are you editing as, or in conjunction with User:LamprosK?
Where did you get the information about illegitimacy from? - is it in a reliable, verifiable source? if so, cite it, if not, it cannot be included.
We do not accept interviews, unless these are by reputable journalists and published in reliable independent sources, and we do not accept anything produced by, or on behalf of, the artist, be that Facebook, Press releases, Websites as these are not independent. We also do not accept documents such as adoption papers, as these are WP:primary sources, and can easily be photoshopped.
You have made numerous statements about other living people:- look at the Personal life section "One of her notable relationships has been to Echo Tattoo's Panos Kourtsounis ... Watson .... is the mother of Orionas (Orion), whose father is .... Nikos Pantouvakis.
Yes you can cite the same book several times, please be sure to include the page number, so the information can easily be checked.
As for "a first hand witness" you cannot cite them unless the material has been published in reliable independent sources.
From your statements "should I ask her for material" and "she talks about it ... in person" - and that yours is a Single purpose account with all your edits about Watson, it appears that you know her, so may have a conflict of interest in editing this article - please read our guidance on conflict of interest - here
- Arjayay (talk) 11:10, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Arjayay, no, i am not user User:LamprosK, i checked yesterday, there was a link, as there is today as well, yes I do know her, we are a very small circle of people involved in the local scene, there is no conflict of interest. I will edit a.s.a.p. after reading the guidelines, citing sources. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CocoMusic (talkcontribs) 13:26, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Discogs[edit]

Apparently Discogs has been used numerous times on Wikipedia to cite releases as a valid source of information.

https://edwardbetts.com/find_link/Discogs

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discogs https://reference.discogslabs.com/wiki https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Why_Can%27t_We_Live_Together — Preceding unsigned comment added by CocoMusic (talkcontribs) 11:40, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

We know we have an article on Discogs and, although it shouldn't be, Discogs is used in numerous articles, there are over 5 Million articles to try and keep an eye on.
Please see these 13 discussions on Discogs at the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard - I'd start with this one to save time
The same goes for IMDB, and Linked-in, which are both user-edited, and both of which you are using. These are not reliable sources and should also be removed.
And PLEASE sign your posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) - thanks - Arjayay (talk) 13:21, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Arjajay:
