Birth and Death[edit]

The original cited birth date of 28 July 1882 is incorrect. His actual date of birth given in the 1939 Register was 28 July 1880. The year 1880 was not incorrectly transcribed as it is confirmed by his birth registration in the September 1880 quarterley which also has his birth registered at Steyning in Sussex. Steyning is also the registration district for his 1908 wedding and for the death registration of his wife in 1919. His death was registered at Hove in 1953 where his age is given as 73, which fits the 1880 birth year.
