Nationality?[edit]

It doesn't say whether one or both of them was British. Valetude (talk) 16:35, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure they're both British. Haven't you heard his accent!? This bio says "Both were born on the Isle of Wight". Feel free to edit the article - it should really open with something like "Eric Charles Hiscock MBE and Susan Oakes Hiscock were noted British yachtspersons, who made multiple circumnavigations of the globe. Their documentary Beyond the West Horizon, was one of the first films about bluewater cruising, and Eric was author of a number of books on small boat sailing." The article was originally written as being about Eric, relegating Susan to no more than crew. That wasn't really representative, so I moved the article (15 May 2015‎ in the page history) and patched it up a bit. I'm sure this article could do with a lot of work, though. There is a problem with the category births and deaths as the dates are just for Eric. Billlion (talk)

family background[edit]

I think it useful to note the family background of sailors like Hiscock. He mentions in Two Yachts, Two voyages (1984) that his father was a lawyer. 64.228.209.137 (talk) 18:14, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
