Neutrality dispute[edit]

@Grorp: Why is this article's neutrality being disputed? Jarble (talk) 18:36, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(Been months since I last looked, but I'll give it a stab.) Though most of the article correctly discusses the subject of ethics as relates to equines, this article goes on to introduce quite a bit of unsourced or unattributed animal rights opinions in wikivoice as if they are fact. Here are just a few samples:
  1. Certain legal practices degrade the horse to the status of a "product"
  2. Horses are often used as sidekicks by inexperienced riders
  3. This "instrumentalization for pleasure or ego" is of "selfish, hedonistic or egocentric" origin.
  4. The world of equestrian sport is by its very nature eugenicist, as it focuses solely on performance.
  5. after their exploitation in equestrian, equine or breeding activities...
The use of such loaded language as "degrade" and "exploitation" are dead giveaways of non-neutral editing. Hence the Template:POV tagging. See also WP:PODIUM, "Wikipedia is not a venue for raising the visibility of an issue or agenda. Cooperate with other editors to neutrally summarize notable topics using reliable sources without advocating any particular position or giving undue weight to minority views."
