Adding to the article[edit]

Hello, I am a PSU student working with Medieval Portland for my capstone and I was assigned the task of researching the equestrian statue of Joan of Arc in Coe Circle. Part of my assignment is to do a digital project for my topic and I choose to expand this Wiki page. I think the information presented on this page is pretty great and in fact, I used a couple of the sources provided here to kick start my research on this statue. As of now, I have no plans of deleting any information that already exists on this page, but just to add a few interesting details I came across while researching that I think will enhance this page greatly. If I feel there is a need for a deletion I will first reach out on the Talk page and present my case. I want to honor the hard work that was put into creating this page and my hope is that what I add will be a valued addition.

Hey Cobler Rose,

I really appreciate how concise your lead is, giving a really good summary of the origins of the statue and how it came to Portland. One thing I am a little confused about is how I know the statue was dedicated 1925 but it was made before that which means the see also 1925 in art isn't exactly correct, but maybe I'm misinterpreting it. Another thing is that you list the condition as treatment needed 1993. After looking at your source you cited for this I see it says it was treated in 2002 so I'm not sure where you got the 1993 date from, you may want to look over that again. Sgalvis, I don't think User:Cobler Rose has even updated the live page yet, but you're right about the 'treatment needed' claim for 1993. I've removed this from the infobox. As for the dedication date, the statue is a copy of Jeanne d'Arc but was installed locally in 1925 (hence the "1925 in art" link in the See also section. @Another Believer: Okay, so I took a look at the Cultural depictions of Joan of Arc article and I'm not really feeling like this section is quite right for that article either. I like I said earlier, I do see your point, I have the same thoughts on the matter. However, the reason I ultimately decided to add this section was to go a little deeper with answering the question, "Why a statue of Joan of Arc was used to memorialize the American soldiers of WWI?". @Cobler Rose: I agree providing a bit of context might be helpful to readers, but I think only 1 or 2 sentences should be about cultural depictions of Joan of Arc in general; the context we add here should really be based on sourcing about the artwork itself.
