Name[edit]

@Alas2022: Many of his books that I can see on Google have "E. Rey" on the title page, including the one cited at Guy II Embriaco (actually a paper). Likewise, he is usually cited, in my experience, as Rey (e.g. here). Srnec (talk) 21:08, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I once wasn't sure if they were the same person. A brief line in the intro should suffice. Dr. Grampinator (talk) 22:10, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Srnec and Dr. Grampinator: His last name is a combination of Guillaume and Rey taken from both parents, as stated in the first sentence in his biography. Alas2022 (talk) 22:20, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But he clearly used just "Rey" as a last name on its own. At Guy II Embriaco you changed the citation. But click on the link and the name is just "E. Rey". No Guillaume. It seems awkward to cite "Guillaume-Rey", when the work not published under that name (so far as I can tell). Srnec (talk) 01:53, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Srnec: In the link you provided for that article, the author is written as Emmanuel-Guillaume Rey, so it is not totally wrong to keep my edits. Alas2022 (talk) 13:23, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
