Clean Up[edit]

This page needs some serious clean up and referencing. I removed the previous text in spanish. I read what the person had posted and it was not relevant to the talk page or the article. It was mostly about the person him or herself and more than likely spam, whatever the case, this page needs clean up.--BaRiMzI 03:42, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page Moved[edit]

I moved the page to it's current page, Emilio Estéfan, Jr. in order to match the man's name. Emilio Estefan, Jr. is an incorrect spelling.--BaRiMzI 19:54, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move: Estefan vs. Estéfan[edit]

Concerning stress and accentuation in Spanish orthography:

a word is stressed on the penultimate syllable if it ends in a vowel, n or s. If a word is not stressed in accordance with the above rule, the written accent indicates the syllable where the emphasis is to be placed. --The Oxford Spanish Dictionary

In this particular case, the stress is on the default penultimate syllable requiring no written accent. Estéfan is an example of hypercorrection. Oskarg956 18:44, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Grammy Awards[edit]

The 19 Grammys includes his Latin Grammy Awards. These reliable sources say the number:

The number in Grammy.com is wrong since its actually at least 8 US Grammy and 11 Latin Grammy Awards.

For strange reasons Grammy.com is not listing his other 6 or 7 US Grammys Estefan has won in his Grammy profile page: Mi Tierra album of Gloria Estefan, the 2 albums of Jon Secada, the MTV Unplugged of Shakira album and the Cachao's Master Sessions Volume 1, Carlos Vives's Dejame Entrar. He won as producer for all of them

In his page https://www.emilioestefanjr.com/awards, Emilio lists 14 of his 19 Grammys (both US and Latin). He doesnt list 4-5 that he also won (for unknown reasons)- Dejame entrar (won him both US Grammy and Latin Grammy) , Dejame entrar (single LG), El Rock de mi pueblo (LG)Chris O' Hare (talk) 01:14, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
