Untitled[edit]

This material is copied almost directly from Fisk's web site and also appears on his concert programs. Although it highlights his achievements as an artist, it is not objective, and thus does not have the tone of a biographical, encyclopaedic entry.

considering I'm the origional author of this article, I realize the origional text I wrote, which was a paraphrased version of the webstite, and a few other sources. I'm trying to undertake a rewrite of this article, in a more biographical, and organized manner. Having the origional page would be a much easier place to start. If there is any way in which an administrator or anyone else can revert all edits to the origional page, I would be very greatful. Thanks a bunch--Chopin-Ate-Liszt! 22:11, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Open the article, click history, and then click on the version you want to go back to (click on the date). Edit and save that version. I'd roll it back for you myself but I don't know which version you want. --kingboyk 22:22, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've done a complete rewrite and wikification, which toned down the blurby style and reorganized the material. Casey Abell 20:40, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy[edit]

Eliot Fisk is a highly controversial guitarist. Many (including myself) consider his playing too driven by speed, leading to very compromised lacking performances. "Speed as Fisk's ONLY goal." I personally really do not like his performances and am glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. There are some reviews that underline my view; and numerous colleges share my opinion. Thus I do not appreciate the removal of the following cited reviews: [1]. I have restored the reviews, as they reflect some people's opinions. You do not have to take it as truth: every reader is of course welcome to form his own opinions! And you are welcome to add positive reviews (if you so wish, provided they are properly cited); even if I very probably will not agree with them. Endoftheggg2 (talk) 16:23, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discography[edit]

I find this discography hard to read. I would like to make it more like the discographies on the rest of Wikipedia, while maintaining most of the information that has been provided.

I say "most" because I see catalog numbers on Wikipedia's discographies frequently and I doubt they belong in an encyclopedia. I doubt many readers are interested in catalog numbers. They would like to know, I guess, album title, year, label, and any information after that only if it is necessary and pertinent. Too many discographies that I see on WP are cluttered and hard to read. An encyclopedia should give you just the facts, briefly and quickly, at an immediate glance. It's important to remember that there are many other places to find a musicians' discographies.
