Article was just started today, I will be updating it with lineups from the past. Djzin (talk) 06:46, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I've added an { { advert } } template. The article reads like a blatant advertisement. E.g., "Electric Daisy Carnival usually has multiple stages full of a variety of electronic dance music, talented performance artists and visual delights." --75.83.69.196 (talk) 04:09, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Negatives[edit]

Lately, there's been lots of negative press about this event(s). Why not have a section about it? 68.96.215.51 (talk) 06:03, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added about the deaths that are related to this years event. I think it's important to be aware of the dangers that are to related to such events. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katiedong (talkcontribs) 19:56, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2012 Lineup[edit]

I added the 2012 lineup to the entry (which took a fair amount of time) and it was removed. The content was purely factual and helpful - as I had visited the site prior to posting hoping to discover this year's lineup. I provided a reliable 3rd party source for the content. Can you explain why it was removed? Jdixon01 (talk) 20:21, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this article. While I didn't remove the material you're referring to, I've just removed line-ups for some of the previous years so I'll offer an answer. In general, a line-up list may not be considered encyclopedic. Also, avoid tables with stage name/performer name/time as, again, this is considered an "advert" so someone will eventually come along and remove them. However, naming the major performers, or unusual circumstances about an artist's performance, may be considered notable. --Rosiestep (talk) 18:43, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The picture named "kineticFIELD at EDC 2011" is not a picture of the kinetic field[edit]

This is a picture of kinetic field: http://www.hauteliving.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/6_25_11_F_EDC_dya_2_kabik-6.jpg I don't know how to change the pictures... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.71.125 (talk) 19:35, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deadmau5[edit]

Why is he not listed in any lineups? From a quick google search I can see that he was in the 2010 lineup. It seems to me that he should be a priority because of his outrageous popularity at these type of events. Jpq21 (talk) 14:39, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Milton Keynes[edit]

The 2014 EDC in Britain took place in Milton Keynes. I haven't got time to find sources, but if anybody has some or can find some, please do edit the article to mention this and add Milton Keynes to the list of host cities in the template. Thanks. Tom walker (talk) 19:52, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2020 rescheduled for 2021[edit]

Looks like the October 2-4 rescheduling for Coronavirus from May will be again postponed to May 2021

2002 Austin event[edit]

Currently, the article has this: "A second edition was held at the Travis County Exposition Center in Austin, Texas.". No citation. This is inaccurate, but I'm not really up to deciding how much of this is worth going into the article.

The history of the 2002 Austin show is a long one, but the show at the Travis County Exposition Center never happened. That was what was announced and advertised and tickets were sold, but the venue pulled the contract in the days leading up to the show. The show was only officially postponed the day of, there was a sort of emergency show stuffed into a club for the people who showed up and wanted somewhere to go, and then there was an event a week later, held on a Sunday in the daytime in a parking lot. It was rather perfunctory, as though it was just the promoter holding an event to say an event happened in order to close the books on it.

So there was a 2002 Austin show in some form, but definitely not as described in the article currently.

I'm mostly pulling this from my personal memory as someone who experienced that debacle, but I did manage to find some Austin Chronicle articles from the time describing the circumstances: https://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2002-08-23/100684/ https://www.austinchronicle.com/music/2002-08-30/101245/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:28E1:5CB0:B54B:3CFA:B60:E3BB (talk) 05:34, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
