Marlene Favela[edit]

How does anyone know that MF is going to replace Elizabeth Gutierrez? I have seen that Telemundo is trying to hire her, but nothing definite. How does anyone know but what EG will be bumped off & a new character (papel) created? There is no citation provided. (EnochBethany (talk) 23:00, 23 August 2012 (UTC))[reply]

It's been reverted and restored various times, but I'm going to remove it. Platinum Star (talk) 23:59, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article now says: "While neither the actress herself nor Telemundo did confirm it, actress Marlene Favela has started shooting for the series, presumably to somehow substitute the character of Mariana.[7]" But the footnote 7 actually goes to a Huffington Post article which does NOT say MF has started shooting, but speaks about negotiations. It has been reported on the internet, however, that MF has started shooting. Yet the source of that is some journalist in Spain who evidently has not been to Miami. This is thus far, IMHO, just gossip. Of course we shall know soon. (EnochBethany (talk) 16:30, 28 August 2012 (UTC))[reply]
"Lo que se venía rumorando ya es oficial: la guapa actriz Marlene Favela se une a la lista de talentos exclusivos de la cadena Telemundo, y su primer papel será en la telenovela “El rostro de la venganza” (10:30pm/9:30c), que cuenta con la actuación protagónica de de David Chocarro." So it is now official, this taken from an official Telemundo site. I read also the rumor that she will have a "different papel" from EG. So, my guess is that EG will be bumped off -- as she surely is now portrayed as the dumbest broad in New York, jilting a mafioso man. Then I think MF will be worked into the show as a new novia of Saul picking up the papel that EG would have done, but with a new name. (EnochBethany (talk) 17:19, 31 August 2012 (UTC))[reply]
Now the article reads: " While neither the actress herself nor Telemundo did confirm it, actress Marlene Favela has started shooting for the series, presumably to somehow substitute the character of Mariana.[7]" But footnote 7 goes to a source which does NOT say that MF has started shooting, a source which puts a question mark after MF. I think that MF will be on El Rosto, but this footnote does not confirm it. In fact, the only source I have seen for this is an uncited reporter in SPAIN, who is NOT a reliable secondary source for what is happening in Miami. If you watched Los Premios last week, it is noted that MF avoided saying she would be in El Rostro. So this sentence should be removed unless a reliable source is found. I'll look for a better source elsewhere. I know I read one awhile back that confirms Favela starring in ERDLV, but I need to find it again. Platinum Star (talk)

Sources for Telenovelas[edit]

I have long thought that the normal rules for Wikipedia articles cannot be practically applied to telenovelas. Most of the material is gossip and primary sources. People watch the telenovelas to learn the plot; they generally don't have reliable secondary sources for the story. So if a plot is going to be summarized, it is probably going to come from primary sources: either from watching the show or from the network's official releases. And it makes no sense, for example, to post a cast (elenco) from a secondary source if the network itself posts it on the internet. Perhaps special rules for telenovela articles are needed -- if it is even worth the effort. (EnochBethany (talk) 05:52, 28 August 2012 (UTC))[reply]

The Central Time is 9:30, not 10:30[edit]

I changed this & someone has reverted it. Of course it is possible that some Telemundo affiliate is airing it at 10:30 where you live. Shall I put it back at 9:30 and cite TitanTV? But I notice that the citation currently provided documents 9:30 Central, not 10:30. I am changing it back to 9:30.(EnochBethany (talk) 05:59, 28 August 2012 (UTC))[reply]
