Cast/Characters etc.

Hey, just a note to raise awareness that at present the article is not following either the manual of style for writing about television shows, nor the similar manual for writing about fiction. We're not a fan site, which means we don't divide characters into the living and the dead, which is an in-universe perspective. Wikipedia is written from a real-world perspective. In the real-world, characters in fiction are not 'alive' or 'dead': they are not real people, and they always exist in the show or in discussions about them. Second, at present, there are descriptions of the 'recurring' characters, the 'dead' characters but no descriptions of main characters, which seems odd. Third, all of this follows the unwieldy table, so I as a reader am left wondering, who are the main characters then? I can't do much about any of this myself, as I've not seen this most interesting-sounding series but I hope that those of you who edit this page regularly can have a look at pages for similar series considered good articles, e.g. The Walking Dead (TV series), and the two MOS above to help improve the article. Oh, I also have a question: why are titles of the episodes in English when the show airs in Spanish? Actually two questions: Are the translated titles sourced? The division of characters into living or dead does seem incorrect. I will remove that. The main characters should probably have short descriptions, I'll add that. The table potentially provides a visual guide as to when characters appear in the series and their relative importance. It seems something that might be handy to some people, I'm not sure why you find it confusing, but if it is non-standard then maybe it should go. I'll leave that to someone else to remove. I think that the Spanish titles should be listed, as there are no official English titles. I'll do that with the English titles in brackets. I note that there is no guidelines in the style manuals on the appropriate way to do this. With regards the style manuals and the 'The Walking Dead' article, whilst I appreciate that this is the standard expected, I do not find the style helpful or useful and consider the 'The Waling Dead' article awful (ie: really bad), so I discount myself as be a suitable person to alter the article to fit the guidelines. There is an unusual aspect of the 'El ministerio del tiempo' article that doesn't seem to be covered style guidelines, and that is desire to list the representations of historical figures in each episode. It would be a shame to not have that information listed, but at the same time it has lead to an unwieldy list of episode casting. Hi Jameel, thanks for responding so quickly. I wasn't suggesting scrapping the table altogether, but its current placement before a list of character descriptions occurs absolutely causes confusion. It does not confuse any of you because you already know who the main characters are; random readers like me do not have that information (bear in mind the article's purpose, ultimately, is to inform readers who know little about the subject). I suggest working on getting the basics down, and worry about any tables later, and keep them manageable; for now maybe move it down while reorganizing/expanding character descriptions. I won't argue about the Dead article, it was the first s-f related TV series article edited to the WP:GOOD ARTICLE standard I was able to find quickly (for all I know, it earned 'good' a long time ago and has since deteriorated; in any case maybe it's apples and oranges). I wasn't sure I'd even get a response so I didn't want to write too much. I work mainly on Doctor Who but that's such a massive topic that every series (and indeed every episode) has its own article so I wasn't about to recommend that. Other models I know of which you could check out which are pretty good at present are Class (2016 TV series), Constantine (TV series), Gotham (TV series), and Lucifer (TV series), and perhaps even the American series which is being sued for possibly being a version of this one, through which I first learned of El Ministerio by the way.

In answer to your question about guest stars, I suspect that as a rule, unless there is a reason why that a particular star is especially notable in some way, they should only be referred to within a description or listing of the episode itself, and not as part of a larger list of the cast (hence there is a guest cast note for Peter Capaldi on the Class page, as Capaldi is the lead actor in Doctor Who, of which Class is a spin off, so he's notable). You'll also find quite a few people on the talk pages who have a great deal of experience editing TV series articles in this genre. Special Appearances

Robberey1705 (talk) objected to the section Special Appearances as it stands on the basis "wikipedia is NO ACTORS DATABASE or a place to add every single actor appearing in an episode. This whole section is not appropriate to ENWIKI, as beside some historical figures, no one is noticeable". However that editor did not provide guidelines as to which characters or actors would be appropriate to list. This section does not list every actor/character, only the more notable ones. In particular I would like to argue for the retention of every real historical character portrayed, which is well more than half of them. Jameel the Saluki (talk) 14:10, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Science fiction or fantasy?

This is a show about time travel that alters temporal lines, using special mobile phones that can create voice and data channels between different time periods, a US corporation that comes up with a technological time travel alternative to the Spanish gates (some sort of portable teleportation device).

My Spanish is abysmal to non-existent.

However? I’m told that series four is currently being filmed: and due for release, next year.
