The egg piercer was not invented by Paul Pelzel in 1966! They have been around for decades: my grandmother had a rather nice bohemian one she brought back from her honeymoon Marienbad (now Mariánské Lázněin in the Czech Republic) in 1887! DickyP (talk) 21:20, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

hard-boiling does not mean to boil hard eggs, piercing is because water heats fast and temperature change is rapid, also water may boil agressively. 93.106.12.112 (talk) 13:32, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
