Articles Expansion

Sczchech (talk) 20:10, 5 July 2013 (UTC) I've edited and slightly expanded the article. It looks good, but all three ideologies have intrinsic patterns that are overlooked.

I'll keep doing some research (scholarly/journal articles encouraged!!!), and point out major characteristics.

If anyone has read Marx, Hayek, Friedman, von Mises, Keynes, and/or Adam Smith, your input would be very valued.

The suggestion for expansion here is good. One economist and his associated school of thought (idealism) not included above is that of Henry George. His seminal book is titled "Progress and Poverty" and is still being used. Macrocompassion (talk) 16:08, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

In looking at macroeconomics, the "Lesson" of Henry Hazlit "Economics in one Lesson" is that we need to consider more than one aspect in economics, several of which are interconnected and which influence each other. Neutrality, language and citations

The distinct lack of inline citations renders the whole article problematic. It could well be a wholly personal, original work. The text should be, instead, full of citations and using text as it appears in the sources. For instance, "socialist state" is described and defined as "a state [that] will primarily concern itself with the welfare of its citizens," a description and a definition that is evidently not universal nor, at the very least, presented as the verifiable opinion of socialism's founders and prominent supporters. The subject of this entry in Wikipedia is of the highest importance but its treatment is seriously wanting in quality. -The Gnome (talk) 12:52, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Merging Page?

I wonder, what is the distinction between economic ideology and schools of economic thought? It can be argued that an ideology is not necessarily equivalent to a school of thought. However, if no difference exists in the content of the pages, then they should be merged (or since the other is somewhat more completed, this page should be removed). Thoughts? I would say that they can be separated because like you stated they are not necessarily equivalent to the schools of thought. The schools of economic thought are the studies of how the ideologies work within a society. They do not necessarily come up with the ideologies, they study the science behind them. I think they should remain separate.Bgreen29 (talk) 19:54, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Peer Review

Your article is very interesting and very well written. I would be interested in seeing it expanded to include other economic ideologies such as anarcho-capitalism and mutualism. One thing I would suggest that may help better organize the article is moving more of the articles under headers, such as Casino and Neo capitalism under the capitalism header and socialism (and it's sub headers) communism and anarcho-primitivism under a header such as Marxism. I also wonder if perhaps the fascism section could be expanded upon, such as if there is a difference between the German economic model and the Italian. Overall however I feel the article gives a good introductory idea as to what economic ideology is and good examples of the core economic ideologies. Ayden3a (talk) 03:30, 11 November 2017 (UTC)

Good contributions! A possibility to add to this article could be a little bit of paraphrasing, adding a little something for people to better understand the topic, for example, the first paragraph where you are defining economic ideology could be a little hard to understand with your wording, so adding your own words could help readers better understand! "Hatdog"?!

The first sentence in the lede states "An economic ideology Hatdog distinguishes itself from economic theory..." (emphasis added) I have no idea what a "hatdog" might be, so I deleted it. Bricology (talk) 06:08, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
