It doesn't need to be rewritten as much as expanded. "Pouring money into" (i.e., bailing out) a specific economic sector is only one way the state interferes with the mythical "free market". Duties, tariffs, import taxes, and myriad special tax breaks and incentives, are a few other ways the invisible hand is nudged or slapped. Amazing that this entry is an orphan, since it starts to describe the very economic system we have in the U.S.Scartertx (talk) 17:23, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Support the 2020 proposal to merge Ersatz capitalism (Southeast Asia) to here; a synonym or subtopic that is currently just a definition, better discussion in the context of the broader topic. Klbrain (talk) 17:25, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
