Mexican ethnicity/nationality[edit]

While Watson talked about playing for Mexico national team, I don't see evidence that it actually happened. Since he never ended up playing, is there evidence that he is actually a Mexican citizen as show in this version? If he does not have dual citizenship with Mexico, while he does have Mexican heritage, WP:OPENPARAGRAPH says "Ethnicity or sexuality should not generally be emphasized in the opening unless it is relevant to the subject's notability." I will remove references to Mexico from lead and infobox until this is clarified.—Bagumba (talk) 22:20, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I thought the same way, and I was going to revert but I didn't have any evidence to say the opposite despite my google searches. His usbasket profile does list him as Mexican-American and that he got his Mexican passport in 2006, but I can't find a source that backs that up – often Eurobasket.com profiles have nationalities listed that may not actually be correct and based on heritage, ethnicity etc. Thanks for removing Mexican as I do agree with you.
