Engine type[edit]

The engine in my Dufour 1800 is Volvo Penta MD5B instead of MD5A. Not sure if that's the case for all boats built, but seems MD5A was only produced till some time in 1978, and from then on they switched to MD5B. 2A01:36D:116:32:FC86:82B6:88C1:519 (talk) 20:11, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. The SailboatData ref and the Sherwood book ref cited both say "Volvo Penta MD5A". To change this we would need to have a new reference to cite. You can note that "my boat has engine an MD5B" is WP:OR which we can't use. In a boat that is now 44 years old there are many reasons why a boat might have had a different engine swapped in later. - Ahunt (talk) 19:46, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
