Heavy reliance on single source[edit]

A lot of the body of this article appears to rely heavily on a single New York Times article (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/07/world/europe/scotland-heroin-deaths.html)

The position this presents does not appear to meet standards for neutrality. Indeed, the final line of the Background section, which cites that article, 'Additional reasons may be related to the failings of the UK's drug policy due to drug policy not being a devolved policy issue within Scotland' sounds strongly like political messaging.

I'd like to see the quality of this article improved but I do not have the personal expertise to do so myself. 195.188.14.222 (talk) 16:32, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Would also like to flag 'Neo-liberal economic restructuring in the 1980s caused parts of large cities in Scotland to go into terminal decline' as clearly an ideologically subjective argument and not appropriate for an encyclopaedia. 195.188.14.222 (talk) 16:44, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
