Daughter?

Suddenly, on internet, there is reference to a daughter called Dream Cazzaniga, which made it into the article (I've removed until better reference can be found.) What is the source for this? It seems to have been plucked from an anonymous posting on a fansite devoted to Luna.Mowens35 16:23, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Please quit putting the wrong death date in; her death date has been verified by her obit in the New York Times as 17 May 1979, not 1 January 1979 as some fansites have claimed.Mowens35 16:25, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

FYI, this page: http://donyaleluna.wordpress.com/ was apparently written by a former boyfriend of Donyale Luna, and it includes some interesting background that could be added to this article, such as her claim to be Polynesian. Right, blogs are not allowed, and there's some reason to that. Otherwise we'd have tons of questionable material inserted into biographical articles, "supported" by sources. Regarding this article, I'd say we should be aware of that, although the blog possibly is an interesting and probably a singular source in this specific case. Black British History

Hello, I really do think the visibility of the page should be more pronounced, so I will be adding to it as there are numerous articles which have become available since 2010. I would just like to voice my concern that this seems to part of a wider part of erasure, particularly the wording of the main article. For instance the blog mentioned by another user I have read also, does actually bother to seem to interview people and notes that the use of that phrase 'kind of a kook' has been taken completely out of its original context. Given how big a first she has in black history, it disheartens me to think that wikipedia has allowed, for what seems to be 10 years going by the talk section, that the place millions of people are directed to, describe her in flat negative stereotypes. She has a very big legacy and yet is barely talked about favourably or at all just based on the quote across a lot of the media, professional or otherwise because of the fact that the phrase 'kind of a kook' which has been taken to describe her entire personality, and yet seemingly describes a small section of it was kept in her Wikipedia page. From 2020, there are no movies, no modern documentaries, scant videos on youtube, and one autobiography only available online and several thousand blog posts about how she is a 'kook'. It has contributed I believe to othering her, presenting an exotic caricature. I can only hope people are more willing to be more inclusive in the future and that her article is included in more initiatives to talk, explore and celebrate black culture, rather than contributing to a world of erasure in the broader cultural sphere, particularly as it pertains to the role it plays in Black British history as a major shift in portrayals of active black women in a positive light. why so few pics of her??

This is my own opinion and in no way reflects the opinion of anyone else, but I believe that will be due to Copyright Laws and their current owners.
