About Don’s DOB[edit]

There seems to be a bit of confusion about the date of Don Spencer’s birth. Some believe it’s 1937, while others believe it’s 1941. I’m not sure which one is correct, but I understand that there’s some reference proof that lead towards each one. Of course, the only real way of knowing is by talking to Don himself as he’d definitely confirm the correct date. Dipper Dalmatian (talk) 11:10, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

He has done an interview in which he says 1937. 58.164.39.43 (talk) 05:00, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is correct. My date of birth is 22/3/1937. Someone keeps altering it to 1941 - this is wrong and needs correcting. DONALDRSPENCER (talk) 03:41, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If there's a reliable source to the interview then it could be changed and added. As you have a conflict of interest it would be better to discuss any changes at the this talk page using an edit request for another editor to change the information, please see WP:EDITREQ for more information. I've also added a WP:COI notice on your talk page to give you more information about editing Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest. Suonii180 (talk) 14:20, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for replying and apologies for the slow delay. Can I send a copy of my passport with me holding it! It is a legal binding document and definitely has the correct dob on it. Please advise the simplest way to fix this error as it seems quite a complex process to something quite easy...thank you Don DONALDRSPENCER (talk) 03:58, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@DONALDRSPENCER:, Wikipedia usually prefers secondary sources over primary, especially with personal information and I've no idea what the process would be for your above solution. I think it would be best to start a discussion at the WP:TEAHOUSE as that page has a group of editors who help answer any questions about editing Wikipedia. I've removed the current date of birth from the article as the reference cites the National Library of Australia here which itself has Wikipedia in it's notes section. This would make it a circular source and shouldn't be used as per WP:CIRCULAR. Suonii180 (talk) 15:09, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Suonii180 I noted at the Teahouse that if the DOB would appear here [1], that would solve the issue. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:21, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
