Restructuring[edit]

The diary of Merer is just one part of the papyri found at Wadi al Jarf, albeit the largest. Merer was one of four inspectors who were under the supervision of Dedi.

The sum of all papyri are the Red Sea scolls (see book with the same title.[1])

Should we:

  • a) Have an article called "Red Sea scrolls", and redirect this to a Diary of Merer subsection.
  • b) Keep the common name "Diary of Merer", explain that it is just a part of the Wadi al-Jarf papyri, and have the other papyri as addendums.
  • c) Have a separate article for the Red Sea scrolls as a whole.

Personally, I think there is not enough content for the split of c). There is a good argument to be made for b), to keep the common name, but structure-wise a) makes the most sense and might be easier to read/understand.
