Originally, this page redirected to Internment. I created its own page for it as I felt this was inappropriate (see my thoughts at Talk:Internment#Detainment Camp=Internment Camp=Relocation Camp=Concentration Camp?). 'Detention centre' can mean many things - for example, the American spelling 'detention center' redirected to Prison. One page, Harmondsworth, uses the formulation 'detention centre/refugee camp', implying the two are the same. Other pages use 'detention centre' to mean a concentration camp. In light of this confusion, I felt a disambiguation page was appropriate, rather than trying to argue that all of the above are the same thing. Terraxos 02:31, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
