Nationalism[edit]

I consider nationalism to mean irredentism. The question of independence of unity with Serbia does not make a difference to a party, it doesn't make it nationalist simply for choosing independence. The point is that DPSCG does not advocate the inclusion of Croatia's coast from Dubrovnik to Neum in Herzegovina. So it's not nationalist. You are Montenegrin right? The ideologies behind Montenegrin nationalism do not all revolve around the issue of incorporating unredeemed land into the country. A sense of identity is part of the nationalism and so is the study of Montenegrin culture. These things are sourced on the article itself. So what if I'm Montenegrin, it seems that nationalists are people with bad intent who lay claim on lands they don't have but for Montenegro, you just have to observe cultural tradition and you're a nationalist. So the plurality that declares Montenegrin is nationalist but those who call themselves Serb are "moderate"???? That is pure POV pushing. Infobox, ideology and position section[edit]

There are too many ideologies in the infobox and there's also a lack of references. Đukanović's government is authoritarian but I wouldn't put in the infobox since it isn't an ideology. And are there any new references for the party's centrist and center-left position? I'd like WalterII and Elserbio00 to get involved here since they have been actively editing articles that are related to politics in Montenegro. Vacant0 (talk) 00:03, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Vacant0: I agree, authoritarianism should be removed as it is not an ideology. I would also add pro-europeanism in the contemporary section as it is their ideology, not just ideology of a fraction according to the program.^[1] Therefore, I would say remove authoritarianism, social liberalism, national liberalism and civic nationalism and add social democracy and pro-europeanism to contemporary section.

@Vacant0: Unfortunately, I was not able to find any new sources regarding the centrist and center-left position so far.

DPS advocates for Euroatlanticism which should stay in the contemporary section, but we also need references for social democracy since the only reference is from Wolfram Nordsieck. The political position of the party should be discussed since they did shift more to the right. We need more references and after that, we can start changing the political position section. Someone keeps putting back the Pro-Europeanism into the Historical segment, whereas it is clear that that is the present-day party's ideology, together with Atlanticism. I'd also argue that the small right-wing minority allegation is a bit overexaggerated. If we are going to go by that basis, any party has members from all sides of the spectrum. Vijesti are starting to become a bit unreliable as a source, and are increasingly biased against the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro. @Vacant0: I am starting a discussion regarding which color code we should use in the infobox of this article now as they introduced a new logo and colors. These are the two colors: Gold Purple
