Missing info and other problems[edit]

  • First of all, there is no information about the International Delphic Committee, based in Moscow. The only mention is a reference from the words "newly formed". IDC-Moscow prepares and holds Delphic Games as well. World Delphic Games 2008, organised by IDC-Moscow, recieved UNESCO and Council of Europe patronage (while the last games organised by IDC-Berlin, didn't recieve any support from UNESCO or Council of Europe). Whether it means that UNESCO ceased supporting German organisation or not, it means also that IDC-Moscow needs to be mentioned in the article, as the UNESCO-endorsed organisation!
  • Secondly, the references for the statement "So like it was also in other Delphic Games" show that the last letter from UNESCO was recieved by IDC-Berlin only in 2005, the last letter from Council of Europe - 2003. Games in Jeju didn't recieve any patronage at all, the reflink leads only to IDC-published booklet, which is not a valid source. So the statement is not correct. Maybe, as I already said, UNESCO ceased supporting IDC-Berlin
  • Arts & Culture categories, Jury and Prizes (provided there are two international organisations, and thus these points differ greatly) are not needed. Some information is already presented in the article about the German organisation, and shouldn't be presented here.

Rectification[edit]

The long-standing preparation by the initiator of the Delphic movement made the implementation of Delphic Games of the Modern Era possible. It was the idea of the initiators (International Delphic Council founded 1994 in Berlin) to revive the Delphic Games of the Modern Era. Due to disloyal behaviour the National Russian Delphic Council founded their own “International Delphic Committee 2003 in Moscow” as counter organisation. The International Delphic Council is known worldwide.

A patronage of Delphic games says still nothing about the organization. Statements are drawn up favourably for everyone. It is remarkable that all Games organized by the IDC Moscow has been and are still all hosted by former CIS countries. In the previous post improvable, deceptive conclusions are floated and make arrogant demands.

It is right that the IDC-Berlin acts as an engine of the Delphic movement and sets parameters how the Delphic Games of the Modern Era have to be realized.

Still, IDC (Committee) hosted the games in Saratov (2008), which were international games, although they were, you are right, hosted by Russia. And these games received patronage of UNESCO. Now lets think - is an event of international scale, which received such kind of patronage, notable? I'd say, yes. And is the organization, which prepared these games, notable? Yes. So, information about it is required in the article.
Your username shows that you are at least keenly follow the modern history of Delphic Games. Strangely enough, you don't know that IDC Moscow was involved in preparing of Turkish Delphic Art Festival in Ankara. Turkey is not and has never been a CIS country, so it is questionable whether you can say that IDC Moscow acts only on the territory of CIS countries.
Also, why do you call adding information about a notable organization an arrogant demand? As for the "Prizes" etc - this info is better to be placed in the IDC Berlin article, because it is related only to IDC Berlin.
A few words about deception as well. Your statement that IDC Berlin acts as an engine of the Delphic movement and sets parameters how the Delphic Games of the Modern Era have to be realized sounds very good, but can you, please, prove it with reliable sources? IDC Moscow is a notable organization anyway. So, not letting to add the information about it in the Wiki-article is wrong. All conflicts between two organization should be settled down outside the Wikipedia. And if, according to wiki-rules, organization should be mentioned in the article, the information should be there. Delphic ritual[edit]

Info about delphic ritual, to my mind, is not needed here. The article is about Delphic Games in general. As two world-level organizations conduct it, and have different ways of doing it, any additional info about the proces itself (any rituals, ceremonies etc) is better to be placed in the articles about the organizations themselves - not in the main article. Musica Magna[edit]

I have some questions regarding the organization by Musica Magna International, which is, stated in the article, the progenitor of the Games. I searched Musica Magna International on Google and found nothing except the Wikipedia articles about Delphic Games of the modern era. This information vacuum looks strange. It raises questions about how correct it is, in this situation, to rely on published sources unavailable and non-verifiable without any quotes from them. At my request on ruwiki to provide quotes from sources, DarDar didn't do it. As a result, there is quite a mysterious organization, with its history impossible to check. The feeling is, that someone tries to make Wikipedia the first-hand source for this information - and, in addition, this unverifiable info persistently circulates in the various language sections of Wiki! This is, in fact, falsification. Some journalists can copy this MMI information from the Wiki and publish it without actual fact-checking - and from that moment it will become, like, credible - not being it originally. I would also like to ask a question: is there a Wikipedia policy defining what should be done in case of Wikipedia being used for such purposes? Misplaced detail and non-neutral language[edit]

Recently, single purpose accounts have been adding excessive detail specific to the International Delphic Council to this article, and point-of-view pushing material to this page. Detailed information about the International Delphic Council belongs on that page not here. Excessive detail and trivia about that or any other organization belongs in that organization's web page, not in this or any encyclopedia article. And opinions, have ever well-intentioned, should never be stated as fact within WP article pages--if the point of view of individuals or groups is essential to the understanding of the subject, then such points of view should be labeled as such, presently neutrally, and able to be sourced (and if challenged, then sourced or removed).

Regarding the Recent COI Edits[edit]

I am currently editing this page – I am a part of the organizing committee for the 2016 Youth Delphic Games to be help in Goa, India. However, I am not being paid to edit the page. Although there is a conflict of interest, I have and will continue to read up on and familiarize myself with the rules and regulations of editing Wikipedia pages. From what I have read, COI edits are not entirely prohibited, so long as they follow a neutral point of view, are not promotional, etc. As a first time Wikipedia editor, I was not aware of all of these issues and have been slowly learning the dos and don’ts.

I am currently in the process of editing the text for the Wikipedia page to make it as wiki-appropriate as possible. Another problem that had come up with my edits was the lack of or incorrectly written edit summaries. So, I will list out in detail the changes, edits and additions here –

  1. The introduction or overview of the Delphic Games has been edited to include purpose of the Games, the organization credited with reviving and organizing the Games, and the origin of the symbol of Games.
  2. The History section will be edited to include more specific details about the origin of the Delphic Games in 582 B.C., what characterized the Games during that period, and the reason for its ban in 394 A.D.
  3. A section called The Delphic Games of the Modern Era will be added after the history section so as to establish that although the games were banned for over 1500 years, they have been revived. To set the foundation for the Games that exist now, the symbol of the game will be mentioned, the significance of water to the games, an outline of the 6 delphic art categories along with the ways of competing - both of which are crucial to those looking to participate in the games. Furthermore, the section will be concluded with a short section about the Delphic Art Movie Award which was established in 2011 in Berlin.
  4. The next section to be added will be the International Delphic Council. I understand that not much information about this section should be included in this page so I have taken that into account and will only edit the page to include a short brief about what the IDC is and does, what the amphictyony or the executive board is, what delphic commissions are and just a mention of which ones exist, and finally a brief about what NDCs and Delphic Clubs are. This section is important as an individual who may be looking at this page is at least informed about which avenue that can use to involve themselves in the games, if they choose it.
  5. The next section to be added, The Delphic Games Program, will talk about how a host nation is chosen for the Games, who can pariticipate in the Games, and who will be judging the games.
  6. This section, Rituals, Traditions & Ceremonies, talks about the host city's poet who is required to pitch his country to the bidding committee for it to be chosen as the host, the castalic spring ceremony that re-enforces the symbolism of water, the opening and closing ceremonies, and finally the agora, which is treated a meeting center for all those who attend the games. These rituals and traditions make up the character of the games.
  7. the final section will be a list of the all games held since the revival in 1997 till date. It will include the host country and the important figures involved with each year's games.
