Untitled[edit]

Sir Day Hort Bosanquet was a much loved Governor of South Australia. He is remembered for riding a white horse through Adelaide each morning. He was also an early supporter of motoring enabling him to travel widely throughout South Australia to meet its far flung inhabitants. During the miners strikes the men traveled from South Australias` Copper Triangle( Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta)to demonstrate outside Parliament House which is adjacent to Government House. Disturbed by the rabble Sir Day contacted the Police Commissioner and stated that if the police did not move the mob from the area he would call out the Navy and do it himself.
