Wine[edit]

@BrillLyle: Re "Wine is a huge deal to him is his bit [sic] hobby no fan info": The relevant question is probably not whether it's a big deal to him but whether it's noteworthy to others that it's a big deal to him. For example, we don't usually mention whether a given CEO loves doing needlepoint or a given basketball player loves to bake. On the other hand, we would mention (and did mention) that a given basketball player loves to do needlepoint if that basketball player were Rosie Grier and his hobby had received substantial press coverage and he'd written a book about it. Is Dave Cobb's hobby closer to the latter scenario? —Largo Plazo (talk) 16:34, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Largoplazo: This page is relatively new and I was trying to update it with as much information as possible to make it interesting and representative. I am not 100% finished editing or adding information and citations. But of course, if you have a significant issue with this content -- which you seem to do -- then delete it. I object to editors deleting properly sourced material as a rule of thumb. It also seems like an over-reaction to a minor fact. And it is a fact. Many biographical entries have information like this and I think it's additional content that can make entries better. Quite frankly, I think it's a shame when fellow editors aren't adding meaningful content or work to the article, but insist on deleting content under the guise of making the entry more -- in their opinion only -- encyclopedic (read: delete content). I see this as a huge problem. It's difficult enough to actually add content vs. deleting content to get a high edit count. So I would prefer to leave it. Deletion of content[edit]

@Skruffyjohns: -- Thanks for creating the Dave Cobb entry. His work as a producer is notable and important and it was way overdue that he had an entry.

Question: Why did you delete much of the content I added to the entry? Not sure what the issues were that you claim the information was "false" and "unnecessary," as it was all included with citations from legitimate press sources and/or came from Dave talking on the podcast interview, a clearly "true" source of information. I'm confused what is happening here, as the entry has been significantly degraded in terms of content. If you don't respond to discuss this I think it's only fair to revert the deletions.
