No Means No? No.[edit]

Several editors have attempted to add a television movie, No Means No, to the article today. There's no listing of it in Barron's filmography at IMDB, nor is there an entry for the title which shows her participating in any movie. I've removed the listing as bogus; any production for which a cast member (allegedly) won an Emmy would have more hits for it. —C.Fred (talk) 15:56, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]


A person calling themself eastvilliage girl has been a real issue on the Dana Barron profile. They were playing the delete and undelete game for about 3 days. Thanks so much for your removal of bogus Dana Barron info. I believe this person should be blocked but I have no authority to say so or do so. Sorry Fred, but Dana Barron was indeed in "No Means No" and it is listed at her IMDB profile. Its item number 31. It clearly lists "CBS Schoolbreak Special" .... Megan Wells (1 episode, 1988)

Also, part of the deletion was for the claim that she won a Daytime Emmy for the special; there is no mention of her even being nominated on the CBS Schoolbreak Special awards page at IMDB.[1] Whoopi Goldberg and Lori Loughlin were the two actresses from the special who did receive nominations. —C.Fred (talk) 21:36, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As to why someone included "No Means No" in her filmography... i can only speculate the poster wanted it there for the reasons that she won an emmy for this performance and unlike many of her other roles where she was merely part of the cast, this was a starring role for her. She was the lead character. Seems you deleted stuff claiming none of it was true and you were continually in error for doing so. I would argue that her leading role and the winning of a daytime emmy for said role is what makes it more than appropriate to mention it on her wiki page. You'll need a corroborating source other than IMDB. Because IMDB has changed since I looked at it above, it is likely that somebody has edited the IMDB listings. Sorry, based on that, no changes to the article here. —C.Fred (talk) 23:41, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No one has changed it. The link you had showing no mention of it still has no mention of it. Its the managers of IMDB that make changes.

It's difficult to get accurate references for Dana Barron as really she has always been a minor player in the world of Hollywood. Her most notable role was done when she was 17 years old playing a 14 year old and that was in 1983's Vacation. There are many references online to Dana's personal life including her much discussed 2 divorces from Dr. Tom Schmeck and Hollywood studio guitarist Jeff Fiorentino which were removed from this page by user EastViillageGirl and replaced with false info. I do believe Barron won a Daytime Emmy for No means No however the only true way to source that would be a reference from the accedemy of Television itself not IMDB. On that note I have to go with C.Fred. IMDB is not a credible source. It is unreferenced in many cases and edited by 3rd parties. Even IMDB itself says that it's not credible in its own about page and at the bottom of everyon'e bio. As for her personal info such as children, spouces, divorces etc all of that is only credibly referenced from public records which I don't believe can be linked here on Wikipedia. Which I learned the hard way. If I'm wrong then I stand corrected.
