Simon had a secret affair with Armstrong.

Jagger and Bianca wed in 1971 and had barely been married a year when he met Simon, already a star in her own right. Simon was engaged to James Taylor having dumped Warren Beatty to be with him. Simon had a troubled well published ten-year marriage to James Taylor, which crumbled in a mess of heroin addiction and infidelity on both sides in early 1980's. Simon was engaged to musician Russ Kunkel, from 1985 to 1986. around the time of a alleged affair between Simon and Jeremy irons who at time was married to current wife Irish actress Sinéad Cusack Simon or Irons never responded to the claims. Simon is married James Hart, a writer, poet and businessman, since 1987.
