Announce DoT server[edit]

Anyone know a standardized method to announce DoT servers (like DNS servers are usually communicated via DHCP)? Shoeper (talk) 17:18, 16 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

DNS service discovery generally happens under the rubric of “Adaptive DNS” in the IETF. So the theory is that you bootstrap using regular DNS, and then discover higher-security offerings like DoT. Not a catalog of implementors[edit]

This article is in danger of being overrun by lists of software and services which implement the standard. Since it's becoming a mature standard, it's no longer appropriate to list every implementor. First and perhaps a few notable implementors should be sufficient, at most. I'd like to see the article focus more on the protocol and less on "me too" implementors. There's nothing to say about the protocol other than it's TLS (covered elsewhere) on top of DNS (also covered elsewhere). It's barely worth its own article. Jdee4 (talk) 08:45, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
