Too many stub articles on the same topic[edit]

There are too many articles on the subjects "cut" and "fill" that all seem to cover the same topic. They are all small articles. I think they should be merged into one article with appropriate redirects.

Cut and fill is 3 KB (508 words)
Cut (earthmoving) is 2 KB (358 words)
Cutting (transportation) is 1 KB (212 words)
Embankment (transportation) is 1 KB (154 words)
Fill dirt is 2 KB (384 words)

I agree, and would add Earthworks (engineering) to the list. Perhaps the articles mentioned above could be merged there, for instance as a section which explains that the material is cut and the hauled to a suitable fill. The reason for doing cut and fill is to exploit existing close-by materials and thus reduce labor/cost. Amount of cutting and the distance of hauling also affect labor/cost. Moved list of software to a seperate article[edit]

I have created a separate article called "Comparison of Earthworks Estimation Software" and linked to that in the software section rather than have an ever expanding list of software as it seemed the list was not representative of the available software but seemed to have only been updated by interested parties. I think it best to use the comparison of earthworks estimation software for the purpose of listing available software and keep articles like this academic.
