Punctuation in title[edit]

Needs to be moved to Cry ‘Havoc’ or Cry 'Havoc'. There are no double quotation marks in the title. 72.200.151.13 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 01:18, 19 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to do that, but it was actually moved here with the reason given by User:Roman Spinner as: WP:MOS#Double or single indicates use of double quotation marks; double marks are also used within this title's listing in Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide -- Beland (talk) 00:51, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Beland: User:Roman Spinner is a conscientious longtime editor, and he and I have agreed on movie-title punctuation in such discussions as Talk:Steamboat Bill, Jr.#Requested move 15 December 2016 and Talk:Buffalo Bill, Jr.#Requested move 15 December 2016.
In this case, I'm not seeing anything at the MOS link about changing the onscreen punctuation of film, TV or book titles to give double quotations when the onscreen title gives single — and the American Film Institute [1], IMDb [2], TCM [3], and The New York Times [4], among other sources, all give single quote marks, which appears to make the Maltin punctuation a WP:FRINGE outlier. I'm wondering whether we should do a formal move request, or try to reach informal consensus? --Tenebrae (talk) 23:53, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Beland: As User:Tenebrae, whose editing displays scholarship of the uppermost echelon, so intuitively alluded, we have agreed on all jointly considered topics and such agreement extends, without any reservation, regarding this topic. Keeping titles in their on-screen form is, indeed, a key consideration and, having made the move to double quotes five-and-a-half years ago, in April 2012, I regret it and wholeheartedly concur that the title should have single quotes per overwhelming evidence specified above. Since it is doubtful that, at this point, even Leonard Maltin would continue to advocate for the double quotes, it would seem that an informal consensus has been reached and the move to single quotes may proceed. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 03:53, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Roman Spinner: and @Tenebrae: So moved! Thanks for getting to consensus on that. -- Beland (talk) 17:45, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You guys are the best (he said through blushing). Love working with such thoughtful, flexibly minded editors such as yourseelves! --Tenebrae (talk) 21:03, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I figure there must be some technical reason, but why does [[Talk:Cry 'Havoc']' redirect to Talk:Cry Havoc' ? --Tenebrae (talk) 21:05, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like it got left behind when the article was moved, so I've moved the talk page too now. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 23:33, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
