Notability[edit]

Cristina's music epitomises the No Wave genre established by ZE Records in New York circa 1980, which was itself a crucial link between punk music, post-punk, and what was to become Garage music. She herself was an important and influential player in this - as well as being Michael Zilkha's wife, her recordings involved key figures such as August Darnell. Clearly notable in my view. Original recordings[edit]

There are a couple of points here. Firstly, John Cale's participation. The original version of Disco Clone (it's different to the Kevin Kline one)definitely does claim him as producer. Cat# ZE001, no performer listed, Cale listed as producer. Limited edition of 1500. 12" only. French / English versions.

Oppose. She was only known as Cristina Monet-Palaci for the first twenty years or so of her life, and then only to her family and friends. For the remaining forty or so years - during and after her marriage - she was known as Cristina Monet or Cristina Monet Zilkha - per multiple sources - and, again, only to her family and contacts. Lady Gaga image[edit]

New wave or no wave?[edit]

The lede says that Cristina was known for her new wave recordings, but then the infobox cites her primary genre as no wave. Considering no wave emerged as a rejection of commercial new wave music, this seems to be quite controversial.
