Crash parameters?[edit]

What are the parameters of a typical crash test? In particular, is there a canonical head-on concrete-wall crash test and if so, at what speed? —Ben FrantzDale 20:05, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, at least not in Europe. Here is the barrier deformable and the highest crash speed is 64 km/h. The reason is that it is not survivable to crash head-on against a concrete-wall at high speed. The survivability limit is under 70 km/h. --84.57.234.183 (talk) 23:02, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There are various speeds depending on the test. You should go to the NTSB website and browse there. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 23:08, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Don't you have a direct link? TIA. --84.56.211.228 (talk) 18:55, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The parameters are 56 km/h in the USA against a concrete wall and 64 km/h in Europe against a deformable barrier. In case of a head-on collision with another car the speed of the 2 cars must be added resulting in much higher speeds than tested in crash tests. --Tubesship (talk) 20:26, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

More information about the history of crash tests, and requirements for crash tests, would improve the article. twfowler (talk) 18:02, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Video[edit]

Should we have a video of a crash test? I think that would make the page easier to follow. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.244.1.113 (talk) 07:36, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bitrate Crash Test[edit]

In computers, there are also Bitrate crash test (Bitrate). --90.173.198.163 (talk) 08:37, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would say this is unrelated. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 00:52, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
