Obviously Courtown and Courtown Harbour should be merged; the village website calls it Courtown Harbour but on maps and road signage it is simply called Courtown.

When I was there on holidays in the 60s and 70s it was known mainly as Courtown.

Courtown tide[edit]

According to a Swedish encyclopedia of the 1950's, Courtown is the only port in the British isles, that has a "solar tide", that is that the tide comes at the same time every day, following only the sun and never the moon. Can someone verify this? It's definitely worth mentioning if it's correct. Fomalhaut76 (talk) 21:22, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
