Gushing testimonial

Is this a biography in an encyclopedia or a gushing testimonial from a fan? DuVall is pretty and can be glamorous and DuVall is a complex person - soft-spoken and friendly and She continues to turn in strong performances ... the tone of this article doesn't feel very encyclopedic to me. 66.17.118.207 14:34, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

I agree. I'll try to fix it up some. Oreo 8:59 pm, 30 October 2006

Camilla Gutierrez

Is Camilla Gutierrez the same Cam from Uh Huh Her, the new band with Leisha Hailey of The L Word? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.144.192.177 (talk) 09:44, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Carnivale?

Why is not even a mention of cult TV series Carnivale in the article? she had a leading role in that production and it was a huge step for her career.85.97.142.138 00:16, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Personal life sources

I have removed the following:

Duvall is bisexual and has dated musicians Radio Sloan and Camilla Gutierrez. She is good friends with Summer Phoenix, Sarah Michelle Gellar...

www.nndb.com is not a good enough source for her being bisexual, and there need be citations for her having dated Sloan and Gutierrez. The source for her friendship with Summer Phoenix doesn't seem very reliable either, and possibly not encyclopedic anyway. The quote further down the page definitely suggests she may be bisexual but is not a statement of that fact, so we need a reliable source before including it as a fact in the article. Indeed. I took a look and it's rumored, but there's nothing immediately locatable confirming Clea as being bi. There's a paragraph in an article on glbtq.com here written in 2002 which says:

"The lesbianism of newer actress Clea DuVall, star of the lesbian film But I'm a Cheerleader (2000), has also been rumored, but DuVall has made no public statement to date."

So I guess we pull it out for now... unless someone can figure out how to mention it without falling astray of WP:BLP. Tabercil 14:09, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

I made out with Clea at a Lesbian bar...is that enough evidence she's a big ol' mo?
It's ridiculous, she has I heart Marcie tattooed on her...or is that just an unreliable rumor? If you can do nothing but remove things from her page, do you think maybe you can do some research and ADD things to her page too? Apparently fansites aren't reliable, so maybe you can dig through her trash or call up her parents and ask, or maybe that isn't reliable enough for you either. --Lipshipsrevolution 13:01, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

I made out with Clea at a Lesbian bar...is that enough evidence she's a big ol' mo?

Are you kidding? Of course it's not. Try reading Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability. Belovedfreak 17:04, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Um...I was joking about that, obviously. I'll lay off, seeing as though the Clea DuVall wikipage gestapo has spoken. ZIG HEIL! Lipshipsrevolution 23:12, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but you shouldn't really be surprised. Every time you edit it says "Encyclopedic content must be attributable to a reliable source." Belovedfreak 16:37, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Um, Carnivàle?

Okay, we have details about DuVall's supporting roles in many films and TV shows, but not a single sentence about her work in Carnivàle? She played a regular, major character in 21 of the 24 episodes. I think that's worth a paragraph as her most significant work to date. It surely rates more than three words under "Notable roles" and a line in the "Television" table. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 08:00, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Clea is a French American?

Her second middle name, D'Etienne, implies that she is a French American, due to its origins coming from French. Can I add the French Americans category in this article, along with its text? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Starkiller88 (talkcontribs) 16:56, 6 September 2007

That's just one interpretation. Her parents could have named her that after someone else, or just because they liked it. We shouldn't really be adding the category without a reliable source that states she has French ancestry. --BelovedFreak 17:28, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, agreed, please see WP:NOR - "Articles should only contain verifiable content from reliable sources without further analysis". A reliable source has to state that she has French ancestry before it can be added to the article. Finding a source that says "D'Etienne" is a French name doesn't have anything to do with this article. All Hallow's Wraith 17:32, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Additional friends of Clea?

Do you think Sarah Michelle Gellar, Rachael Leigh Cook and Summer Phoenix are really friends of Clea DuVall? Why can't you add it to the "Personal life" section? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Starkiller88 (talkcontribs) 08:17, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, if that info is going to be added then it definitely needs a reliable source. There is an argument to be made that this kind of stuff isn't really that important to the article. It is difficult since we are lacking any reliable info about relationships, which would usually go into the personal life section, but bio articles don't usually have comments about friends unless their is something notable about that friendship. --BelovedFreak 18:15, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
