Merge Cinema Handicap into Cinema Stakes[edit]

The event is a continuation of the Cinema Handicap (last run) at Hollywood Park in 2009. The event was renewed at Santa Anita in 2016 as the Rainbow Stakes after Hollywood Park was closed. In 2019 the event was run as the Cinema Stakes. Santa Anita Park has reverted several events back to their original names as they were run at Hollywood Park. In particular Hollywood Gold Cup which was run as Gold Cup at Santa Anita but also has reverted to its original name. Hence, the article should have a continuum of the historical name that was used and that Cinema Handicap should be merged into this and the separate article Cinema Handicap should be deleted. • Agree with merge I agree with the proposal. These are practically the same article. The Cinema Handicap article shouldn't be deleted, so we don't lose it's rather extensive history, but can be turned into a redirect. Joyous! | Talk 00:55, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No merging was necessary; the articles were virtually identical, so I turned the other into a redirect here. Joyous! Noise! 01:35, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Joyous!: That's fine; just remember to remove the merge template on the other page too :) [I've done it in this case] . Klbrain (talk) 21:18, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oops. Thanks for the cleanup. Joyous! Noise! 15:01, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
